Innovation in ultrasound-guided breast biopsy

Better access, larger cores and more control. Introducing Celero.

Simply put... its simply better.
Innovation starts with the willingness to listen and the ability to understand. By leveraging the
knowledge and insight of leading physicians, technologists and administrators, we were able
to better understand their challenges and as a result designed a better hand-held breast biopsy
solution Celero. The Celero breast biopsy device delivers both the compassion patients
deserve and the clinical benets you demand.
Celero is the rst vacuum-assisted, spring loaded core biopsy device designed for your use
under ultrasound-guidance. With its 12-gauge needle and 11 trocar tip, you have better
access to areas of interest regardless of tissue type or lesion position. With the Celero
breast biopsy device, you can achieve your goals with fewer samples and larger quality
cores, which means fewer needle insertions and a more compassionate breast biopsy for
your patient. For your ease and convenience, Celero is completely disposable, requires no
capital and is economically supported by reimbursement code 19103.

Clinical Goals Achieved:

Easy access to challenging lesions
Larger tissue samples than other spring loaded core devices
Consistently provides quality tissue samples
Fewer insertions for your patient
Visually conrms aperture location prior to tissue acquisition
Ability to mark biopsy site

Better Cores

Better Access

Better Conrmation

Core size more than 2x the size

of other SLC devices*

11 trocar tip provides smooth

penetration to lesion while
eliminating deection

Two ring modes provides exibility

for precise control and verication of

Better control for challenging

procedures:

Vacuum technology holds tissue in

the aperture ensuring large core
sample

Fewer insertions needed for

accurate diagnosis
Consistent core quality

Hologic offers the following markers to be used with our Celero

ultrasound-guided breast biopsy device. All these deployment
devices are a rigid end-deploy delivery system.
SecurMark for Celero and SecurMark Ultrasound
SecurMark biopsy site markers are
comprised of:
- Ultrasound visible bio-absorbable
suture-like netting, designed to minimize
movement within the biopsy cavity that
surrounds a bio-compatible permanent
marker.
- Two titanium and three stainless steel
shapes available.
