OBJECTIVE
1.

To understand the basic concepts of Drives, Electric drives, types and factors influencing the
choice of electrical drives.

To understand the working principle of DC &AC motors and their characteristics and its
braking methods.
3.
To understand the Starting methods of DC &AC motors.
4.
To understand the Concepts of speed control in DC motors & AC motors.

To familiarize the students with concepts related to the electrical drives and control of the DC and
AC motors.
