bKash Payment Procedure for BUET students
From now on the students of BUET can make payment of the university and hall dues
using bKash e-payment service. Payment of dues can be directly made at Sonali Bank
Ltd., BUET Branch as before. Use of bKash e-payment service for payment to BUET
will be free of charge for the first six months ending on January 11, 2015. Thereafter, a
nominal charge will be applicable for availing this service. Note that a student must have
a designated bKash account registered in BIIS to avail this service.
[To register your bKash account you need to log in to your BIIS account, click the My
Contact Information link and then click Edit Contact Information. Then carefully
input your bKash account and then click Save. You can only register your bKash
account once.]
bKash Payment Steps for BUET students:
Step 1: Go to bKash Menu by dialing *247#
Step 2: Choose 'Payment' option by pressing '3'
Step 3: Enter appropriate BUET wallet number based on Table 1. Table 1 is also
available at the BUET website.
Step 4: Enter amount in Taka.
Please note that after the initial six months period, the amount to be paid in bank
shall differ from the amount to be paid through bKash. You need to check for the
appropriate amount to be paid.
Step 5: Enter a reference against your payment as follows. Your reference would be of
the following form: <Head Reference>W<Student Number>W<Semester/Month>
Here, Head Reference refers to a 4 digit number from Table 1 (the information is also
available in the BUET website: www.buet.ac.bd). W is the English letter. It could be
either upper or lower. Student number is your student number. Please note that for
undergraduate students, it is the 7 digit student number (2 digits for year, 2 digits for
department code and 3 digits for roll). For registration related payments, the
Semester/Month is the semester for which you are paying the money. For other
payments, e.g., hall related payments, Semester/Month is the month for which you are
paying the fee. The format of Semester/Month is mmyyyy (i.e., 2 digits for the month
and 4 digits for the year).
Example:
a. Suppose, student 1002023 would like to pay the registration fee for the semester
November 2013. Then (s)he will have to key in the following reference:
1111W1002023W112013
b. Suppose, student 1205119 would like to pay the hall dining fee for the month
January 2014. Assume that he resides in the Dr. M.A. Rashid Hall. Then (s)he
will have to key in the following reference:
3322W1205119W012014
Step 6: Enter the counter number: 1.
Do not give any other number here.
Step 7: Check all entries carefully and then enter your bKash PIN to confirm: xxxx. If
you have done everything correctly, you will get a confirmation SMS which will include a
Transaction ID (say, Tx). At this point, your processing with bKash is complete. Your
processing however would not be fully complete until and unless you execute
and complete Steps 8, 9 and 10.
Step 8: Log in to your BIIS account in BUET website. Click the bKash Link.
You must have a designated bKash account registered in BIIS. Otherwise, you
will not be able to complete Step 8. To register your bKash account you need to
log in to your BIIS account, click the My Contact Information link and then click
Edit Contact Information. You can only register your bKash account once.
Step 9: Give the input (including Tx) as asked in the screen and press the Download
button.
Step 10: You should get a pdf receipt (bKash payment slip) clearly indicating the
amount, head, date/time and other relevant information. Take a printout or save a
softcopy of the receipt. Keep it safe for future reference. At this point your payment
process is complete.
