Homeopathic remedies to From Rani9 [Log on to view on 2010-02-18 be taken after cesarean profile] Delivery 28 replies 8315 views This is to discuss with you that delivery has occurred on 8th feb., but it was a cesarean case. Baby was in normal position, but naval cord(attachment between bay & mother) was wrapped around the neck of the baby, that was hindering the birth of the baby. Whatever the reason, now I would like to know the complete course of homeopathic remedies to be taken in future: 1. to regain strength, 2. to heal stitched part, 3. to heal uterus, 4. to get relief from back pain occurred because of injection given in back-bone to make unconscious, at the time of operation 5. and to avoid such occurrences in future . Other information: No problem with feeding, milk production is normal, no complicacy found during pregnancy even in sonography/ ultrasound report. Remedies taken during pregnancy: BC 1, BC 26, on regular basis. Thanks Re: Homeopathic From Dr. Bagyavasan.k [Log remedies to be taken after on 2010-02-18 on to view profile] cesarean Delivery The best surgical remedy will be calendula external application as well as internally. Calendula Q can be applied on the sutures and calendula 30 can be given to take inside on a daily basis for better suture healing. Also if there is pricking or sharp pains in the sutrue sites then you can give her hypericum 30 on daily basis again. Most back pains due to anesthesia will be subside a few weeks after delivery or surgery and you don have to take any medicines for that, if the pain persist even after 4-5 weeks then we can suggest some medicines, till then needs nothing give a slight massage on the back once a day it will be taken care. Avoiding future C-sections is very difficult when the first pregnancy is C-section then the next would more likely will be the same.. but we will have to wait till she get pregnant to see if there is any complications and then we can address them accordingly and now it is too early to think about that.

For strength of the muscles you will have to take up abdomen exercises on a regular basis, but again that will be later after few weeks not now. Thanks. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-02-28 profile] cesarean Delivery It means only Calendula is required to heal stitches, but doctor is also giving some tablets(allopathic) and injection to cure it, so is it possible to take this medicine along with those given by doctor. Also, taking of heavy foods, fats, dry fruits, and the foods those are not easy to chew are prohibited by the doctor, so please advise some remedy to maintain strength, because continues feeding is going on, as it is also effecting progress of the baby. Milk production has no problem. For last two days, also suffering from fever, coryza and catarrh, and today pain in the back & not feeling well. Please advise remedies accordingly. Thanking you with Regards Re: Homeopathic From Dr. Bagyavasan.k [Log remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-01 on to view profile] cesarean Delivery Yes you can take any medicine along with calendula. I will let you know about the foods to be taken soon. for fever cold and stuffiness take nux vomica 30 a few doses (4 drops) in the morning, afternoon and night. for 3 days things will be fine. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after profile] cesarean Delivery thak u doctor for your valueable advise.

Now most of the things are ok, but 2-3 days after starting Calendula, some pain is feeling internal stitches, should we try hypericum now. Please also advise food, the daily doses and duration of calendula & other medicine. Body pain is also severe like in

Re: Homeopathic From maheeru [Log on to remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-15 view profile] cesarean Delivery For your trauma, please take Arnica 1M one dose ONCE. Re: Homeopathic From Dr. Bagyavasan.k [Log remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-15 on to view profile] cesarean Delivery Arnica is a good suggestion, i will be happy to start with 200 rather than 1M, one dose of 200 will take care of the rest. you can stop calendula, and if the stitches pain still continues take hypericum 30 (two doses morning and evening) for 2 days you will be fine. Thanks. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-16 profile] cesarean Delivery we r already using Arnica 200 twice a day for last 5 days as given by a local doctor for body pain. today it has stopped, body pain is ok except back pain, but internal stiches pain is continue as earlier. as per your advise, we are stopping calendula. by evening we'll arrange Hypericum thanking you all for your suggestions. Re: Homeopathic From rsingh5 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-19 profile] cesarean Delivery Today some relaxation from pain noticed, except back pain, although it is also reduced to some extent. Now should we stop Hypericum or not, or any other medicine would you like to refer after that. Re: Homeopathic From Dr. Bagyavasan.k [Log on 2010-03-19 remedies to be taken after on to view profile]

cesarean Delivery you can stop hypericum and nothing to be taken for now. if you need anything do get in touch. Thanks. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-26 profile] cesarean Delivery Now everything is fine. I think back pain and tiredness is due to weakness arising from operation, feeding to baby, and restriction on taking some heavy foods by the doctor. Otherwise stitches pain is now totally removed. Doctor says, if I use fats, paneer, or some heavy food, it may create catarrh, or it may cause pus in the stitches portion, however, there is no feeling of un-cured stitches. Thanks for your valueable suggestions & hoping a positive response from your side, in future. Regards Re: Homeopathic From Dr. Bagyavasan.k [Log remedies to be taken after on 2010-03-26 on to view profile] cesarean Delivery Hi glad everything is fine, you will have to take a lot of fluids and have more protien stuff, avoid fat things like oily things, ghee, etc in food. Fruits and fluids are very important in the food. Don hesitate to get in touch if there is anything you need to know. Thanks. I am feeling good these days, however pain in legs & tiredness is still present. Also I would discuss some ponits regarding Homoepathy. I read in a book that use of some Homoeopathic remedies in last 2-3 months of pregnancy can cause painless delivery, and use Pulsatila 200 in last few days can help to put the child in correct position & make sure the painless delivery. So, my question is whether it can avoid the wraping of naval cord around the child(legs, neck, arm etc.) or it can rectify the problem if you know about it in advance, by using these medicines. Please also let me know whether it is possible Vaginal delivery after C-section and how much the gap should be between two deliveries to make sure 2nd delivery vaginal. Re: Homeopathic From Mahfoozurrehman [Log remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-05 on to view profile] cesarean Delivery Please take one dose of Staph-200 (5 drops) and report after 2 days. dr. mahfooz Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-14 profile] cesarean Delivery I used Staphis-200 one dose on 11th may and feeling much relief from abdomen pain. On 5th May before your prescription, one dose of Hypericum-200 was taken, which gave some relief from stitches pain. For last 3 days, no abdomen pain is noticed, but some pain in stiches is still, but not all times. Heartiest thanks for your prescription, but sorry for delay due to time taken in arrangement of medicine. It was not available in liquid form, so we used its pills, but it is also effective. Please let me know if any other dose of Staphis or any other medicine is required or not. Also one friend recommended Stramonium 1M. one dose only. I have also arranged this remedy, should I use this or wait for your further instructions. Once again Thanking all of you for this great help and advise Regards Re: Homeopathic From Joe De Livera [Log on remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-14 to view profile] cesarean Delivery I have often prescribed Arnica 30c to be taken both prior to and after surgery and it has helped all those who used it to recover from their surgery very quickly.

I have used it myself in this manner before 2 surgeries the first being a Retropubic Prostatectomy in 2002 while the last was an Inguinal Hernia surgery in 2009. I surprised the nursing staff and the surgeon in both cases by refusing to use the Morphine in the first surgery which was fitted to the IV line and in the case of the second surgery which was relatively less complicated, I refused to take the Diclofenac Sodium 100mg that is used post surgery. I was free of any pain after both surgeries except when I coughed and I would recommend it to you for use even today, 3 months after your Cesarean delivery. I am 81 years old and have used Arnica in the Wet dose nightly since 1996 and have proved that this remedy truly qualifies for the title "Miracle Remedy". You can read more about it on this Forum by visiting: http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/42450/ The method of using Arnica prior to and after surgery is as follows: Take 2 pellets of Arnica 30c sublingually (under the tongue) in 2 doses the first about 4 hours before and again an hour before surgery. Continue to take 2 pellets every 2-3 hours after surgery on the first day after surgery and on the day after it is best to take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose in water as this is more effective. The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows: Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement. Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket. Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace. Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull which is the dose. Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle which can be used as a dose. I would like to add here that all the other remedies you have taken cannot equal the simple therapy I have recommended above as you would have been surprised to find that you are virtually free of any pain thanks to the Arnica.

Re: Homeopathic From kadwa [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-14 profile] cesarean Delivery ^^Also one friend recommended Stramonium 1M. one dose only. I have also arranged this remedy, should I use this or wait for your further instructions. **There is no basis for giving Stramonium 1M. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-17 profile] cesarean Delivery Thank u all of you (especially Dr. Mehfooz, Dr. Kadwa, Dr. Bagyavasan.K, Joe De Livera, Neil Madhavan, and all other participents) who helped to cure/ overcome/ reduce the problem. From above discusson it is cleared that Stramonium 1M is not required now. But, Please mention whether another dose of Staphis-200 is required or not. Also, Arnica 200 was already used after Calendula 30 and before use of Hypericum 30. So, can it be used now in 30th Potency, and if yes, for how long. Re: Homeopathic From kadwa [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-17 profile] cesarean Delivery Staphysagria is an excellent remedy for nerve pain after surgical operations. You may repeat one dose of Staphysagria 200c if the problem is persisting. It was an excellent suggestion from Dr. Mahfooz. Arnica has already done it's work and it is not needed at this stage. The decision regarding Stram should be taken on the basis of detailed mental (and other physical) symptoms of the patient. Re: Homeopathic From Rani9 [Log on to view remedies to be taken after on 2010-05-17 profile] cesarean Delivery Thanks for reply It means no remedy is need to be taken at present. However, one dose of Staphisgaria200 can be taken after a week, if problem Persists. I would like to discuss any improvement/ problem in future. Please mention if some minimum Gap between two deliveries is recommended to ensure second delivery safe, as I came to know that second delivery is possible as Vaginal, even after 1st delivery is cesarean.

All surgery related problems are now almost cured, but in these days pain in the half right head, neck, right shoulder, back pain, & pain in legs & arms, pain in breats(only on slightly pressing/touching them) for last 10 days. Plz suggest some appropriate remedy, as I think it may be due to weakness raised from breast feeding or any other reason Re: Homeopathic remedies to be taken From Rani9 [Log on to view on 2010after cesarean Delivery profile] 12-10 (Kind attn: Dr. Bagyavasan, Dr. Mehfooz & Dr. Kadwa) As Dr. Bhagyavasan replied to this post on 18-02-2010, and his persciptions helped me to recover, but as mentioned that back pain due to anesthisia wil generally subside a few weeks after delivery or surgery, but pain persists even after 10 months of delivery and it increased for a month back.

Back pain is not continue, generally it arises from longtime(an hour or more) laying on back during bed. It is too much in the morning at the time of wake-up. After some movements & activities, much relief is noticed, although some tiredness feeling after daytime work, but back pain is very less. It is in the lower portion of back around hip joints and slightly above portion. Please advise some approprate homoepathic remedy. Thanking you all. Re: Homeopathic remedies to be taken From dpnctl [Log on to view on 2012after cesarean Delivery profile] 09-30 My wife has delivered a baby 2 weeks back after a c-section was performed. As of now she is suffering from severe dry cough because of which her abdomen is shaken and pains a bit for her. We are worried a bit cos of the cough and pains. Will Arnica+hypericum & Calendula help her which are mentioned in this discussion. She is on a normal diet with high garlic + ghee in food. This is a local practice. Kindly suggest. I was told by my sister that steroids are given by doctors to help heal quickly and my wife is on alopathy treatment since day 1 of delivery. Re: Homeopathic remedies to be taken From Joe De Livera [Log on on 2012after cesarean Delivery to view profile] 09-30 Dpnctl I was alerted to this thread which dates back to December 2010 and note that your wife suffers from a dry cough which is causing her some pain due to her c-section. If this cough is due to a Virus infection you can give her: Bryonia 200c in the Wet dose taken 4 times daily. She will first gargle with about 23 teaspoonfuls of the remedy to enable it to pervade the throat tissues as this will hasten the cure. She should hopefully discover relief from her cough within a few minutes.

Report her response here on this thread in 24 hours. The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows: Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement. Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket. Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace. Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose. Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user. Re: Homeopathic remedies to be taken From Joe De Livera [Log on on 2012after cesarean Delivery to view profile] 09-30 "She is on a normal diet with high garlic + ghee in food. I did not read the above before my last post. I do not understand the reason for STEROIDS to be given to your wife as this is NOT recommended as her breast milk will carry them to your baby. I am aware that Antibiotics are usually prescribed for about 4 days but these too will carry over to baby who must be given every chance to live without them. I also note your "local practice" to give Garlic and Ghee in food. This is NOT recommended as the Ghee which is Butter Fat will only make your wife FAT which she must obviously avoid. You can add Arnica 30c in the Wet dose given twice daily to help heal her suture wound. You will STOP the Bryonia as soon as her cough is OK but she may continue with the Arncia for a few weeks.

An emergency Cesarean birth was certainly not my plan for my first child. I spent a lot of time thinking about what I could have done differently before she was born, and I had high hopes that my second birth would take a different path. Unfortunately, some specific life circumstances kept me from being able to pursue my dream of a VBAC birth with my second daughter. Healing from a Cesarean birth is not a topic that receives much coverage in the online world devoted to natural living. When I was recovering from the births of my daughters, I wasnt even aware that there are natural approaches to healing that could have made my recovery time a little easier. Recently, a friend of mine gave birth via C-section and the midwives who had provided her prenatal care shared some natural healing tips that I wish I had known about when my girls were born. Please remember that I am not a medical professional nor should this article be consider medical advice. Homeopathic and natural approaches to healing should be used with the same care that one would give to pharmaceutical approaches to healing. Natural Options for Post Cesarean Birth Healing:

Staphysagria: This homeopathic remedy is known to promote healing of surgical wounds. Staphysagria is also sometimes recommended for emotional health, particularly in recovery from a trauma. If you are struggling with a sense of grief or loss

because of a Cesarean birth, Staphysagria may be helpful not only for physical healing but also for emotional recovery.

Hypericum perforatum, also known as St. Johns Wort: Most people are familiar with St. Johns Wort as a natural treatment for depression, but this herbal remedy is also recommended for aid in healing nerve damage. Lingering nerve damage in the csection incision area is one of the most annoying long-term effects for many women who have given birth via Cesarean section, and this may help alleviate those issues for some. Arnica Montana: You might know this homeopathic remedy as leopards bane, wolfs bane, or mountain tobacco. It can be extremely effective in treating bruising and muscle soreness, both of which are common following a Cesarean birth. Rutin: This bioflavonoid not only helps with bruising, it is also known to promote tissue repair. With a Cesarean birth, there is obviously internal and external tissue damage, so any supplement that stimulates the body to heal the damage is helpful. Therapeutic grade lavender oil: Incision care is a pivotal aspect of healing from a csection. Rubbing therapeutic grade lavender oil with a carrier oil such as jojoba will help to alleviate the itching and pain that may occur as the incision heals. Frankincense essential oil is also recommend for scar care.

Photo bygeezaweeza For many women, the medical model of care provides the basic directions for healing from a Cesarean birth, and those instructions are important (limitations on lifting, driving, etc.). However, beyond pain management, there is often little advice for how to encourage the bodys healing process. Im thankful for the care I received following the birth of each of my daughters, but I also wish I had known about how these natural approaches could have supported my body as it healed. And for some women, particularly those who had planned for a natural birth, the emotional healing is far more lengthy than the physical healing. Its important to find ways to support your mental health during this time as well. Processing your feelings about your Cesarean birth with your spouse or trusted friends, a natural health care provider, or a mental health professional is just as important as caring for your incision in the weeks and months that follow.

A surgical birth may not be considered the ideal in natural living circles, but we can work toward a collective mindset that honors each birth for the miracle that it is and offer support for mothers who would appreciate physical and emotional support no matter the circumstances of the birth experience.
