Available Sizes
FurmaFast comes supplied as a complete ready-to-use kit that includes a fast-curing epoxy putty stick and water-activated composite wrap. It is available in a range of sizes to suit different applications. Furmanite recommend stocking 50mm (2) width wrap for pipes below 150mm (6) diameter and 150mm (6) width wrap for larger diameters. Rubber straps to provide an instant leak seal at pressures up to approx. 4.5 bar (70psi) are available in 2 and 4 widths. FW1-24 (smallest) 2 inches x 4 feet - recommended for repairs on 1/2 to 1 diameter pipe FW1-26 (small) 2 inches x 6 feet recommended for repairs on 1 to 1 1/2 diameter pipe FW1-212 (medium) 2 inches x 12 feet - recommended for repairs on 1 1/2 to 2 diameter pipe FW1-412 (large) 4 inches x 12 feet - recommended for repairs on 2 to 4 diameter pipe FW1-520 (larger) 5 inches x 20 feet - recommended for repairs on 4 to 6 diameter pipe FW1-625 (largest) 6 inches x 25 feet - recommended for larger pipes
NB. Multiple rolls can be used for larger diameter pipes. More than one roll may be required to achieve the recommended 24 layer repair thickness
1.Turn off pipe flow or use Furmanite Leak Mitigation products e.g. instant-sealing rubber straps. Degrease and roughen the pipe surface. Plug leak area with epoxy putty. 2.Immerse wrap in cool water for at least 30 seconds, then tightly wrap the pipe. 3.Grip and smooth resin around tape in direction of wrap, massaging until hard. 4.Wait 30 minutes to re-pressurize pipe. Working time can be increased by cooling the FurmaFast wrap in water for 15 minutes before opening the foil package. Warming the wrap will reduce the cure time.
