This guide is a compilation of online sources that will help people who are planning to
travel to Paris, France. The type of sources range from online organization to commercial
organization. This gives us a great range of sources, and all of the resources provide very
accurate information.
Intended Audience
The general audience for this guide is travelers and international students. More
importantly, this guide will make it easier for an older person or someone who may not
be the best with a smartphone or Tablet computer to plan their vacation. (i.e. Flight ticket,
Transportation, Culture, Place to go, etc).
Key Assumptions:
In order for a person to get all that they can out of this resource guide, it is assumed that
they are old enough to travel on their own, have some experience booking online flights
and hotels, and have a payment option that can be used online. Also, it would be
beneficial to know how to spot a particularly good deal and have decent time
management skills when it comes to planning a trip.
Organization:
This guide is split up into three different categories. First, travel and hotels, which will
help someone decide where to stay and how to get around. Next, Tourism, which
describes where a person should go to visit, where they should eat out and even a Must
Do list. Finally, a section about the people of Paris including: your effect on them, the
language they speak and even some interesting facts about the culture.
Tips:
Each source presented will be summarized and annotated so that you can see
where the information is found.
Each source will also have tips and important aspects to pay attention to while
reading.

the price, date, and time. The site supports round trip, one way and multi-city. It also
indicates the price in different airports in different countries. This site allows people to
download an App to their phone, making it easier for them to view price updates. This is
a very useful site because you have the freedom to use its services on multiple devices.
Tips:
Create an account, you can get alerts when prices drop.
Look at other travelers comments to get an idea, then make your flight choice.

Expedia is a site that compares thousands of hotel offers available to and around your
desired location. It gives you the prices of all hotel rooms, where they are on an overhead
map, directions to the hotel and even has customers reviews of each hotel. It lists down
the page the top ten hotels that are available for your desired location and allows you to

modify your search for hotels by check-in/check-out date, number of rooms available and
even by child friendly hotels. This site allows you to further your search even more by
giving you the option to select certain themed hotels. It also lists some popular tourist
sites that are near the hotel in which you wish to stay. This site is an all important tool not
only to help you plan where to stay for your trip but to also plan the experience that you
want to have.
Tips:
Make sure to list all of the criteria in your search so the site can find the best hotel for you.
Deals and rooms are changing everyday so be sure to check back often to book the room you've
been waiting for.

This source was developed by international students of the French School of Arts and
culture or IESA for short. The site provides information about transportation including:
buses, taxis, and the metro. When one heads to Paris they must make sure that they have
a transpass card to use certain transportation services. A rather helpful aspect of the site is
the fact that it labels whether or not transpass is allowed by each specific company. The
site is also very helpful for students who want to study in Pairs. It lists some information
of what you need to have on your Student Immigration Checklist.

Transportation information starts at the middle of page.
This site is categorized by few sub-titles to make it easier to find information that you need.

This section is a breakdown of the places that you can see in Paris, some things that one

This travel site is designed to get people to their desired Paris destinations in a cheap and
efficient manner. It elegantly portrays pictures and important text of each specific venture
on your list of places to go. At the top of the main search page for your specific region,
there are 8 unique sub-categories that classify each type of destination. These categories
include: activities, sights, restaurants, transport, entertainment, shopping, tours, and
events. Arranging the destinations in this manner makes it very easy to find the best deal
for your point of interest. The best part about the site is the fact that it offers package
deals for each destination. These deals can range from a bottle of champagne to an
expensive event ticket. Either way your are getting the biggest bang for your buck.
Lastly, each page tells you what the package specifically offers and what it does not. If
something is included it will be given a green check mark. On the other hand, if
something is not, it will be given a red X mark.
Tips:
Check the top of the search page to find the specific category for the place in which you want to
visit.
Use the check marks and X marks to your advantage. Read them first to see if that deal is what
you are looking for.

This site gives the abridged history of Paris. It provides potential and future tourists with
some background information about the city they plan to visit. The page covers major
time periods that are significant to the becoming of the city. This goes from 3rd century
BC all the way to the end of the second World War. It gives tourists a sense of
appreciation for the city.
Tips:
Type paris.fr into the Address bar of your web browser. The site is entirely in french so to avoid
this click on the EN above the word Paris in the ribbon at the top of the page. This will redirect
you to the english parallel site. Close to the bottom is a link titled Presentation of the City,
click it and the link to the history of Paris will appear at the top of the new page.

This is simply a small list of intriguing facts about Paris. More tourist trivia than anything
else. Either way, it is a great way to see that Paris is a bustling metropolis and has some
peculiar facts like most other cities. For instance, there is a society (not mentioned in
source) that breaks into historical locations, repairs the location and sets a temporary
cinema. Along with hosting artistic events.
Tips:
There are ads on the page that are completely irrelevant to the topic. Infact the host site is a store
of some kind with a micro blog about Paris, and past the list most of it can be ignored at your
leisure.
