December, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I am a professional
and passionate individual, eager to be a part of the UC San Diego Medical
Center externship experience. During my clinical rotation at your facility I
could not help but notice the emphasis on quality care and the compassion I
witnessed for both patients and fellow staff. I would love nothing more than
the privilege of joining this fantastic team and to experience the enthusiasm
and compassion I was exposed to on a daily basis.
As a nurse at UC San Diego Medical Center I will bring my experience in
working with diverse communities, my strong passion for helping others, and
my growing interest in evidence based practice. I am grateful for the time I
spent volunteering as a medical aide in Nukuru, Ken ya where I gained valuable
l i fe l essons t hat I wil l c arr y wi t h m e t hroughout m y nursi ng car ee r. M y
combined education, which is rooted in patient-centered care, makes me an
ideal candidate for this position. My various clinical rotations have helped to
sharpen my critical thinking skills while also exposing me to the importance
of working as a team in order to provide quality patient care. My past
experience in both personal trainer and as an emergency medical technician
provided me with the skills to work in team environments and has improved
m y a b i l i t y t o c o m m u n i c a t e c l e a r l y.
In addition to my nursing skills, my first degree in exercise science
has provided me with a strong work ethic and the ability to teach,
c o m m u n i c a t e , a n d m u l t i t a s k . Wo r k i n g a s b o t h a p e r s o n a l t r a i n e r a n d a n e w
patient advocate required a significant amount of patient education. This
valuable experience will help me to provide exceptional quality care for my
patients.
