Author Profile
Tony Crilly is Reader in Mathematical Sciences at Middlesex University, England. He has also
taught at the University of Michigan, the City University in Hong Kong, and he has been a tutor
for the Open University. He has written and edited many works on the popularisation of
mathematics, computing, fractals and chaos. His principal research interest is in the history of
mathematics, and his definitive biography of the English mathematician Arthur Cayley was
published in 2006.
