The weather is not beautiful all of this time. Perhaps you can remember a day when bad weather made
you afraid. One kind of bad that scares many people is called a thunderstorm.
This is what happens when there is a thunderstorm. First you see a sudden flash of bright light. A few
second later you hear a loud rumbling sound. The quick flash is called lightening, and the loud sound is called
thunder. Lightening is colourful, but it can cause serious problems.
Lightening is electricity that is moving very rapidly. It may be moving between a cloud and the ground,
between two clouds, or between two parts of the same cloud. The lightening heats the air around it. This not air
expands, or gets bigger, and it causes the air to move in another. The air waves pass you in a series, one after
another. For this reason, you may hear many rumbles and not just one sound.
Did you go to the zoo last holiday? Did you see tigers? Well, tigers are wild animals. They eat meats.
They have strong teeth and claws. Some oh them can run very fast.
But know tigers are protected animals, especially the Sumatran tigers. They became rare because people
hunt them for their skin.

The seasons in Indonesia are different from those in Europe, in Indonesia there are only two season,
namely the dry season and the wet or rainy season. In the dry season, the temperature may reach more than
350C. it’s very hot outside and the sun shines brightly. However in many tall buildings in the big cities, you will
not get any problems because you can find air conditions. Thin clothes are suitable for the daily use. Fruit crops
may take place in this season such as melons, mangoes, pineapples, and also durians. The dry season can be a
picnic time. People often go to beach or climb the mountain.
The wet season is a little bit boring. It almost rains every day. The sky always cloudy as if the sun is
hiding behind it, however the rainy season brings happiness to farmers, because their rice-fields depend on
water, either ever water or rain water.
News contains fact about important events. In South Korea, the exchange of letters is big news. It appear
on the front page. In Indonesia, that news is not as important as it is in Korea. It might not be printed on the front
page.
What kind of news printed on the inside pages? They are less important news, opinions features, sport
news, and some other information. Sometimes readers send letters to the editors. Their letters appear below the
editorial section where both editors and readers give their opinions about important issues.
Photos appear in every part of the newspaper. So do advertisements. The reason is that both are very
important. Photos help readers to understand the news better. Advertisements make a lot of money for the
newspaper company.
