Ton is a large biker with an array of weapons/arms and knowledge. Allen is a cleancut humorous guy who knows tons about antiques. The show is about their adventures of wheeling and dealing in the storage auctions. Theyre an awesome team and quite entertaining.

ginnifer goodwin is on a roll. In just minutes, she has swiftly yet succinctly expounded upon her lifelong penchant for fairy tales, the deeper significance of Snow White, a zeal to experience ziplining, why clothes are like costumes meant to express how you feel each day, and how her family has provided her with a rare emotional strength.
She finally comes up for air. I am extremely high energy, Goodwin admits with a giggle. Its annoying to some people. I dont know where it comes from. I just dont want to miss anything. Hard to imagine that happening. Goodwin is a spitfire and she shows no signs of slowing down. And why should she? At the moment, theres an avalanche of good in her life. For starters, the 33-year-old is one of the lead players (as Snow White/Mary Margaret) in ABCs Once Upon a Time. The bold yet mysterious fairy tale yarn finds classic storybook characters cast out into the real world without any recollection of who they really are (oh, what a scornful queen can do). Thats alluring, but beyond the show (already generating buzz for being a latter day Lost with its save the real world/ enchanted forest storyline) Goodwins own personal story is worthy of inspection. >>>

On With the SnOW:

Ginnifer Goodwin on her quintessential role in ABCs Once Upon A Time: d!: What drew you to the role of Snow White? GG: The writing. I wasnt looking to get on another television series, but then I discovered that TV is where all the great writers have gone. Every single script I read was phenomenal but the one I was drawn to far above the others was Once Upon A Time. d!: Best thing about playing her? GG: Were not reinventing the story. Were filling in all the blanks. d!: Can we expect any Lost-isms in the storytelling? GG: Its a very different story but we use a very similar formula for storytelling. Were going to give the audience all of the puzzle piecesout of order and leave it to them to put it all together. d!: Three Little Pigs or Jack and the Beanstalk? GG: Jack. Hes such an adventurer. d!: Cinderella or Snow White? GG: Snow White for sure. Shes a woodsy girl. And shes a brunette. Shes the one I responded to in that way. Thats what you do when you are a little girlask yourself which one you look like the most.

Ginnifer Goodwin stars as Snow White/Mary Margaret in ABCs Once Upon a Time. At first glance, her life looks enchanting. When I was little, I thought I was Alice in Wonderland, Goodwin beams, noting that she wore the dress and everything. Shed often instruct her mother come in her room at varying intervals and say a certain line Goodwin had prepared for her. She wouldnt belittle it and say, Oh, isnt that cute, she thinks shes Alice. She would come in and say the line and leave. And I would go on with whatever scene I had created with my dolls. Goodwin was, in fact, always encouraged by what she proudly calls her hippy-artsyfartsy family in Memphis, Tennessee. My father was in the music business and I did not realize that children [elsewhere] were not raised being woken up by blasting rock n roll music, she reflects with amusement, or having a mom that was not bothered by finding that their child (Goodwins sister) had taken the trash and papier machd it in the middle of the bedroom. Instead of my sister getting in trouble, we threw a party to celebrate her artistic talents. Goodwin laughs. That was my house. There just was never a question that I wanted to be an actress, she says. I remember loving being in school plays and then local productions. My parents said that, as long as you keep up your grades and as long as you dont take a paycheckbecause I wasnt allowed to do anything that would make me money because I think they felt that would change my relationship to itI could always act. And my mother was encouraging, saying that acting wasnt going to be a backup job. She said, You dont need to have a backup. If you have a backup, youll back up. And so, with her familys blessing, the young girl from Memphis ventured out into the world, shined in university productions and eventually received honors for her performance skills at Boston Universitys College of Fine Arts. That was 10 years ago. In just a short amount of time, Goodwin has become something of an anomaly in the showbiz universea young actress praised for both her beauty and her talents. Shes one that has consistently received favorable reviews in television appearances from Law & Order to Ed, and dramatic movie roles in Mona Lisa Smile and Walk the Line. Of course, theres Big Love, HBOs awardwinning polygamy saga with Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Chlo Sevigny, in which Goodwin played ingenue wife, Margene, to such believable ends. The exposure led to feature roles in heart-warmers like Hes Just Not That Into You and Something Borrowed. It also solidified her as a soughtafter actress with girl-next-door charm. But shes quick to point out that its her love of good stories that influences much of her decision-making. I was always on the high school summer reading list, she reveals. I loved anything by Jane Austen. I loved my Edith Wharton and Charles Dickens. I was so into that, into those characters. I realized recently that there isnt any one genre I love. I just love exploring what makes other people tick. I had a really disgustingly healthy upbringing in a really loving supporting family so I just wanted to know what it was like for other people. Its downright fun to hear Goodwin confess all this with such fervor. Shes relentlessly focused, seems genuinely happy and perfectly upbeat. I generally always know what I want, she goes on. I am not really fussy about that. I am really competent in asking for those things. She pauses to reflect. Growing up, my mother always used to say, Never compromise yourselfyoure all you got. Insights worthy of a princess. So what are the odds this fair maiden will live happily ever after? Pretty darn good.

Movie finds

Tune in: Check your local On Demand channel

Larry Crowne This uplifting love story is written for maximum whimsy by Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and is directed/acted for maximum charm by Tom Hanks. No one could make a more feel-good movie in which unemployment, foreclosure, alcoholism and divorce make up the plot. Hanks stars as a well-liked eight-time employee of the month at a big box retailer. Because his lack of higher education (he was in the Navy for 20 years) limits his promotion opportunities, he is let go. Unable to find another job and determined to broaden his opportunities, he enrolls at a community college. Enter disillusioned teacher Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts), who despairs that she has no impact on her students lives and whose unhappy marriage has driven her to drink. Extra credit to the casting director who assembled Bryan Cranston as Mercedes husband, George Takei as a self-absorbed economics professor, Pam Grier as Mercedes sympathetic colleague, Cedric the Entertainer as Larrys encouraging neighbor and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as a young classmate who gives Larry a makeover. This is not a movie that wants to set the world on fire, but its heart is in the right place and humanistic comedies are at a premium, so we are happy to grade this on a curve. Rated PG-13. Beginners Ewan McGregor stars in this offbeat drama as Oliver, a commitment-wary man who gets an unexpected life lesson from his 75-year-old father Hal (Christopher Plummer). Six months after the death of his wife of 45 years, he tells his son that he is gay. The film flashes between Olivers childhood and his relationship with his mother (who knew Hal was gay), the period in which Oliver and his father navigate Hals period of adjustment, and the time following Hals death, in which Oliver begins a tentative relationship with a free-spirited French actress (Mlanie Laurent) he meets at a costume party. Plummer, continuing his late career renaissance, gives a superb performance without artifice or sentimentality (the character is based on director Mike Mills own father). Perhaps the films breakout star is Cosmo, Hals dog whom Oliver takes in. His thoughts, amusing and heartfelt, are communicated in subtitles, but this conceit is used sparingly. Beginners embraces life and love with an uplifting optimism. Rated R. Water for Elephants Based on Sara Gruens bestseller, Water for Elephants is Titantic under the Big Top. Instead of the venerable Gloria Stuart, we have Hal Holbrook as an aged circus hand who tells the story of a Depression-era disaster still spoken of in hushed tones. Instead of Jack and Rose, we have aspiring vet Jacob (Robert Pattinson) and circus performer Marlena (Reese Witherspoon), star-crossed lovers who risk all to be together. Instead of Billy Zane, we have Christoph Waltz as August, Marlenas circus owner husband. He is a charismatic man, but torn by desperation over his financial straits and jealousy over Marlena, who is driven into Jacobs arms by Augusts cruelty toward humans and beasts alike. Pattinson is enough of an attraction for his fans, but Water for Elephants is sure to resonate with baby boomers who grew up with Disneys Toby Tyler. Is running away to join the circus still an irresistible childhood fantasy? Water for Elephants depicts a grittier and more brutal hard knocks life than Toby. But this ravishing melodrama, populated by colorful characters and anchored by its sincere love story, boasts a much more bittersweet and buoyant conclusion than Titanic. Step right up! Rated PG-13. Crazy, Stupid, Love This refreshing raunch-free romantic comedy is a downsized Love Actually with only four subplots. Two of them make the movie. Steve Carell, in lovelorn Dan in Real Life mode, stars as Cal, a man whose world is rocked by his wifes (Julianne Moore) admission of an affair and request for a divorce. Ryan Gosling costars as Jacob, a lounge lizard who takes the self-pitying, vodka cranberry-drinking Cal under his wing, gives him an extreme makeover and teaches him how to be a player. But when Jacob falls for Hannah (Emma Stone), a lawyer who resists his well-rehearsed lines, it is Cal who becomes the mentor. Thats more than enough right there, but then things get a little crazy and a little stupid. Cals 13-year-old son is obsessed with his babysitter (Analeigh Tipton), who herself has a crush on Cal. Amidst a cast of seasoned scene stealers (including Marisa Tomei as a onenight stand and Kevin Bacon as the other man), Gosling coolly owns the screen. His scenes with Carell and Stone are the best in the film, unforced and naturally funny because they are true. Rated PG-13.

If youve ever found yourself salivating while watching your favorite cooking show only to balk at the high fat content of the culinary creations, youre not alone. But have no fear, Hungry Girl is here, ready to help you with simple ingredient swaps to make your favorite foods lighter and healthier! Lisa Lillien, a self-proclaimed foodologist, sets out to fill the stomachs and minds of viewers with her Cooking Channel and Food Network series Hungry Girl, an extension of the uber-successful daily email service of the same name boasting more than 1.1 million subscribers to date. Lillien, who founded the Hungry Girl website in 2004, says her passion for making filling meals on a caloric budget started back in college, but even she couldnt have guessed her creativity in the kitchen would lead to this kind of popularity. Ive always been food obsessed, she says. One day I realized that there was so little information out there that I could relate to about food and making food choices. I felt there was a giant gaping hole in the food world that needed to be filled and I knew I was the person to do it. Hungry Girl was born. Ive always been sort of a food gossip and Hungry Girl was the perfect vehicle for me to satisfy my craving for spreading food info. She proved to be an Internet hit and produced five best-selling cookbooks. It was time for the next logical step. Everyone would say, Well, wheres your TV show? remembers the good-for-you foodie. So I started to explore opportunities. And when Scripps [home of Food Network and Cooking Channel] was interested in 2010, I had no choice but to try it out! Each week, Lillien serves up several delectable and satisfying recipes, always at the ready with tips for cutting unnecessary calories while keeping, and even adding, flavor. To nourish the mind as well as the body, she also takes viewers on a field trip or two, whether to the grocery store or an eatery. One episode featured the host at her favorite pizzeria explaining how to order smart, another tackled tips for the local sandwich shop. All in an effort to help advise fellow hungry girls and guys on how to make healthy choices out in the real world, but never at the expense of a good time. Its important to have the fun, playfulness and silliness of the daily emails come through on TV, while conveying seriously helpful and important information, she insists. Approachable, entertaining and truly scrumptious, you can dive into all of Lilliens tips, tricks and recipes at Hungry-Girl.com. GuIlt-Free Must-Haves

New People, Places & Plots Sweep Through November

By Greg Archer
Out with the old and in with the new! November TV serves up fresh faces (and food) that have never graced our screens before. So, in between fulfilling your Dancing with the Stars and X-Factor addictions, take note of these promising new offerings:
There seems to be a theme of one-gal/three guys this fall. Here, three divorced fellasa Casanova (Donald Faison), a homebody (Wayne Knight) and sensitive soul (David Alan Basche) somehow wind up living together in an apartment across the hall from their divorce attorney (Kristen Johnston). Shes also their landlord. True, TV Land has had a stellar winning streak with its new original comediesfrom Hot in Cleveland to Happily Divorcedbut we pray it takes a cue from a few past pitfalls (mostly the need to play things over the top too often), and elevate this cleverpossibly winning concept to great heights. Better still, it best make good use of Johnston, one of TVs most underrated comedic divas. Regardless, this one is definitely worth a look. Watch: Premieres Wednesday, November 30, 10:30/9:30 pm C, TV Land

A girl living with three guys? Its Threes Company, nearly 40 years later, but in reverse with a plus one. The always-enchanting Zooey Deschanel ((500) Days of Summer) plays Jess Day, a late-twenties goof with a positive attitude, even after a sketchy breakup. Guess where she finds solace? Enter roommates Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Ugly Bettys Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris). Nicks the most grounded of the bunchwe suspect future romance herewhile Schmidt is a modern-day Romeo and Winston a basketball player longing to relive his days as a high school athlete. Rounding out the group is Jess childhood friend and professional model Cece (Hannah Simone) who provides nononsense relationship advice. The cast shines, so heres hoping the shows writers pace themselves with effective story arcs and, more importantly, humorous scenarios viewers can appreciate. Watch: Tuesdays, 9/8 pm C, Fox

New Girl

Well, heres something different. A post-Civil War soiree that promises to shine the light on the struggles of rebuilding the nation after gruesome battles challenged our social mores and paved the way for a very different future for the country. And all set against a backdrop of the expanding railroad lines. OK, well bite. Anson Mount (City by the Sea), Common (Date Night), Colm Meaney (Get Him to the Greek), Ben Esler (The Pacific) and Eddie Spears (Into the West) lead the acting pack and John Shiban (Breaking Bad, X-Files) is part of what looks like a brilliant writing team. Themes of greed and the immigrant experience factor into the mix but most of the tale revolves around Mount, who plays a confederate soldier with a deep hunger for revenge over his wifes death during the war. Watch: Premieres Sunday, November 6, 10/9 pm C, AMC

Homeland

Ten years after 9/11, psychological and emotional wounds continue to run deep. We discover that in full bloom in this wonderfully executed series that is both bold and brave in its executionbold because it unravels an intriguing, often complex tale of counterterrorism; brave because it does not play down to its audience. At the helm is Claire Danes (Temple Grandin) who so believingly embodies the frustrations and weariness of her beleaguered covert CIA officer Carrie Mathison, which could become one of the more standout characters occupying the television universe this fall. She sounds isolated; shes lonely, Danes says of the character. (An Emmy nod next year would not be surprising.) Bright spot: The show is the creative offspring of 24 producers Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, so expect plenty of plot twists and mental hopscotch. Mandy Patinkin also stars as Danes boss, but look for Damian Lewis to shine as a prisoner of war, presumed dead, but now returning home. No doubt hes toting plenty of secrets. The Layover, Travel Channel
Where do you go creatively after youve become a best-selling author and nabbed an Emmy of a popular travel series? You just keep going, apparently. Thats what Anthony Bourdain is doing with this new Travel Channel outing, which, at first glance, looks downright captivating if not informative and educational. The lowdown: Bourdain jetsets to a locale and only has 24-48 hours to explore that destinationeverywhere from Singapore to Amsterdam and then some. In every case, these are places where I either did go, or would visit even when the cameras are off, Bourdain muses. This is a reflection of what Ive learned over time. Its about telling a story that viewers can re-create themselves. Inside reports reveal that the series will be robust and fast-paced. Sounds good to us. Its all part of the curious evolution of Bourdains vibrant legacy. Hes a 28-year vet of the professional kitchen experience and when he published a memoir about life in the culinary lane back in 2000 (Kitchen Confidential), it sparked deeper interest about what happens behind the scenes. A Cooks Tour followed, which somehow unleashed a smorgasbord of other noteworthy turnsmore culinary books, an essay book and even a series of crime novels. Meanwhile, Bourdains other Travel Channel show, No Reservations, has hit a seventh-season milestone and the mans plate is far from empty. He once quipped: Context and memory play powerful roles in all the truly great meals in ones life. But the same can be said about all of Bourdains unforgettable adventures. Dont be surprised if The Layover is picked up for a second season. In the meantime, buckle up. These should be memorable trips. Watch: Premieres Monday, November 21, 9/8 pm C
