Samsung Jet Stick

Modern Samsung vacuum cleaners exist in two main categories, called Jet Stick and Bespoke Jet Bot Combo. At a glance, the difference is simple. Jet Sticks are cordless, upright, handheld vacuums, and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo lineup consists of automated vacuum cleaners, i.e., robot vacuums that roam around the house on their own.

Although the difference between Jet Stick and Bespoke Jet Bot Combo sounds simple enough, things can get complicated once you look deeper into each product lineup to decide which model you should buy. There are several.

On this page, we will explain everything you need to know about the Jet Stick product lineup, starting with the fact that not every model is smart.

Jet Stick vacuums and SmartThings

In general, the Jet Stick vacuum lineup isn't very smart or integrated with the SmartThings mobile app. Except for one high-end model, all Jet Stick vacuums on the market right now lack Wi-Fi connectivity and smart capabilities. Most are not what you would call IoT (Internet of Things) or smart devices, so they don't sync with your SmartThings mobile app.

Make no mistake. Jet Sticks are cordless, battery-powered handheld vacuums with a great deal of clever engineering behind them. They have good motors, clever accessories, and slick designs. Nevertheless, they are non-smart products in the modern sense of the word.

However, if you are looking for a smart handheld vacuum, you're not without options. As of this writing, there is one Jet Stick model that has SmartThings integration. In most markets, it's called Bespoke Jet AI and costs around $999. It's the most expensive Jet Stick model in the series, but it stands out because of its smart capabilities.

The Bespoke Jet AI is the only Jet Stick vacuum cleaner that syncs with the SmartThings mobile app to let users know when they should change the filters, empty the dustbin, or recharge the batteries. It's also the only one to boast AI Cleaning Mode, which changes suction power based on the floor type.

Other things you should know about the Jet Stick series

When you buy a Jet Stick vacuum cleaner, you should identify which models come and don't come with a Clean Station. And even if you might see the words “Clean Station sold separately” on Samsung's website, know that this particular accessory is hard or sometimes impossible to find, depending on your region.

With that in mind, it's better to decide whether you want a model with or without a Clean Station from the start. If you plan on buying the vacuum first and the Clean Station accessory later, you might be out of luck and be unable to find one on sale.

As to what the Clean Station does, in short, it acts as a charging stand. It also lets you empty the vacuum's dustbin into a larger container at the press of a button. So, with a Clean Station, you won't have to empty the vacuum's dustbin as often between cleaning sessions.

Another thing you might notice on Samsung's e-shop is that many Jet Stick vacuums have a number in their names. The trick is simple: The higher the number, the higher the vacuum's suction power. Generally, a higher number means a more powerful vacuum.

In addition, it's important to know that the most affordable Jet Stick vacuums don't have a display. Mid-range ones can have simple LED displays, and only the more expensive Bespoke variants feature full-on digital screens.

Lastly, note that some models ship with more accessories than others. Some have fixed pipes, while others have telescopic pipes. And, of course, prices vary according to all these differences and varying specifications.
