Of the many Galaxy AI camera features, this one is perhaps on the most useful. It's always nice to capture slow-motion videos using the device, but what if it was possible to do that without having to use the dedicated camera mode for it?
This is precisely what Samsung was thinking when it was putting together the suite of features that make up Galaxy AI. So the company came up with Instant Slow-Mo. The name might suggest that it's an editing feature, which it is not, but it does make it very simple to instantly create slow-motion clips from videos captured using the normal camera mode.
What is Instant Slow-Mo
The Instant Slow-Mo feature uses some cool Galaxy AI magic to let users make slow-motion clips from any video, even ones that they may have received from friends and family. It's very easy to use this feature. Simply open a video in the native Gallery app and play it. Tap and hold anywhere on the screen to slow it down.
This instantly lets the user know how that portion of the video will look like when it's slowed down. The video continues to play in slow motion as long as the user holds their finger down on the screen. Once the desired portion has been found, the native edit feature can be used to create slow-motion clips from that video.
The app remembers the part of the video viewed in slow-motion so when the user presses the edit button, they can easily create a new video in which that particular part is transformed into a proper slow-motion clip, while the rest of the video plays at the normal speed. Options to adjust the slow-motion speed are also presented to fine-tune the final result.
How to access Instant Slow-Mo
Instant Slow-Mo is integrated into the Gallery app so there are no steps required to access it. Just tap and hold anywhere on the screen when a video is playing in the app to instantly see the slowed version.
