Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A55. It brings the latest security enhancements to the company's most premium mid-range smartphone of 2024.
The update is rolling out in some Asian countries as of October 11 and is identifiable by the build number A556EXXS5AXI4. Like all other Galaxy smartphones that have received this update, the Galaxy A55 is not gaining any new features, only security fixes.
The October 2024 security patch fixes over two dozen vulnerabilities in the core Android OS and 12 that pose a risk only to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. There's also a fix for a security flaw affecting Galaxy smartphones and wearables powered by some of Samsung's in-house Exynos chipsets.
To download the latest Galaxy A55 update, navigate to the phone's Settings » Software update menu and select Download and install. You can also just wait for the phone to automatically notify you once the update is available.
