Knowing your story and offering support, as well as reflection and encouragement are the reasons why I enjoy the counseling process! These attributes are also a large part of what makes therapy successful. I have experience working with individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, religious/spiritual conflicts and life transitions. I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Bethany University in California, a Master of Science Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Arizona and have worked in the behavioral health field for the past 26 years.

Most people are unsure of what they can do to improve their lives or work through stress, sadness, nervousness or change. Although transitions in life are constant and real, growth and improved lifestyle, relationships and overall satisfaction are possible. Dealing constantly with racing thoughts, nervousness or feeling fidgety, hopeless or depressed is time consuming and you deserve better. Do you want to express yourself more confidently, connect with others and have a better future outlook?

Life can bring both joy and pain. Sometimes the challenges we experience can feel overwhelming making it hard to find hope. Showing up and doing the vulnerable work towards healing is courageous. I have had the privilege of working with children and families in the field of education for 15 years. It was during my career as an educator I realized my passion to come alongside people facing difficulties that life can bring. It is my desire to walk with others through their pain towards healing and hope.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Often it is hard to see. Sometimes the issues we are dealing with can feel like they are crushing us. The cycle of depression and anxiety might feel never-ending. It can get better! These issues could stem from traumatic life events. Perhaps we are just overwhelmed juggling work, life, and family, and have lost sight of ourselves. Sometimes we struggle to work things out. We all need a little help and guidance at times. I use an integrative approach to assist clients in navigating difficult periods in their lives. I work with adults 18 years and older.

Everyone experiences life's ups and downs. Many of us though, experience issues in which we get "stuck", become ill, or which affect our relationships. In my 30+ years in practice as a therapist, I have encountered people whose problems run the gamut of life's experiences. In my professional training, I have learned many tools and concepts to help me help people. I believe the relationship that a person has with their therapist is one of those most important tools. I provide a safe, supportive therapeutic environment to listen and and to find ways to solve the problems people bring to therapy.

I honor what makes us unique and appreciate each individual experience. I believe we want to be our best selves and find happiness and enjoyment in our lives. Sometimes discovering what is hindering this growth is found in a supportive therapeutic relationship. I am a Clinical Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals healing from trauma and couples navigating relationship issues. I believe in the significance of aligning the mind and body and find that awareness of our somatic experiencing and parts (IFS) to be incredibly helpful in increasing feelings of connection, self-compassion and trust in Self.

At times life and the changes life brings can be overwhelming. These changes can make life difficult to move from one moment to the next let alone the next day, especially when the tools we have to cope are no longer benefiting us. It can seem impossible to deal with these life stressors and escape from the overwhelming feelings that accompany them. I am here to help you through the journey of these life stressors and creating new ways to deal with them. I am licensed in Arizona with 13 years of professional work experience.

Trauma can make you feel alone and misunderstood. You might feel like there is no one you can talk to because you don't want to cause them pain. You try to smile and carry on but this too has stopped working. Maybe you are angry, maybe you are afraid. I get that. Maybe you just want it all to stop and go back to the way it used to be. I get that too. Trauma can be a big event or reoccurring smaller events (micro-traumas). Even relationships can feel traumatic.

As a queer woman who grew up in the bible belt of Texas, I bring a fresh perspective.
My approach is deeply person-centered, focusing on building resilience and empowering individuals on their ever evolving journey of self discovery to navigate life’s challenges. My background is rooted in community based services, and for the last four years I have worked with survivors of domestic abuse, individuals in crisis and children ages 3+ in various settings. I am a proud feminist and my work is centered around the recognition and subsequent destructing of the harsh systemic realities we find ourselves in. I am here to be your staunch advocate, encourager, and counsel. Together we will learn, unlearn, and grow as necessary.
