It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... a gay superhero! Since concerned parents in the 1950s first accused Batman and Robin of modeling a same-sex relationship, there has always been a close association between LGBT identity and superheroes. Something about hiding an identity from the public and having to "pass" as an ordinary person -- not to mention the fabulous costumes! Now some superheroes are being portrayed as clearly gay -- showing that justice, whether on a cosmic level or an interpersonal one, is something worth fighting for.
