Pedro Pascal Says He's 'Lethally' Protective of His Trans Sister Lux

Lux Pascal, the sister of Mandalorian and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal, publicly came out as trans in 2021.

In a recent interview with Esquire, Pascal said that while he hadn’t seen Lux since last year because of his busy schedule, “I get anxious about when I’ll be back again. So I’m just trying to see her as much as possible.”

Lux, who is seventeen years younger than Pedro, “ruled the household right away” when she was born, and he noted that she was strong-willed from the start.

“When my older sister and I would visit [Chile], we were like intruders,” he said. “Our mother was her mother, but for us to think that we were entitled to this woman’s attention in any way was absurd.”

When the topic shifted to the grim times the trans population faces and how Pedro feels about what this moment in time is like, he said, “I wouldn’t want to speak on her [Lux’s] behalf.”

That in mind, he added, “She is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known. My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.”

When Lux told Spanish-language magazine Ya that she had previously identified as non-binary, but began transitioning in 2020, she noted Pedro was the most “important part” of her journey.

“My transition has been something that’s very natural for everyone in my family,” she said at the time. “It’s almost something that they expected to happen.”

Pedro posted the cover on his Instagram, captioning it, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” or “my sister, my heart, our Lux.”
