UPDATED:

The FHSAA playoff brackets were released Friday night and Jones and Lake Mary enter postseason play as the top two ranked teams in the Orlando area.

Jones ranks No. 2 in Class 4A behind Plantation American Heritage (7-2) and Lake Mary No. 2 in 7A behind Venice (9-1).

The top-ranked Orlando area teams in the other classes are Bishop Moore, No. 4 in 3A; Kissimmee Osceola, No. 6 in 6A; and Edgewater, No. 7 in 5A.

Winter Park (7-3) was No. 7 in Class 8A a week ago, but after winning the 7A, District 4 matchup against Boone on Thursday the Wildcats moved up to No. 6. Surprisingly it hurt them, costing Winter Park a home game in the first round because of the way the pairing process works. So the Wildcats will be at No. 3 Orange City University (8-2), another district champion, to open play.

District champions get first-round home games unless they are playing another district title team that is ranked higher.

Orlando has 10 area teams entered in the 32-team 7A bracket, the most representation in any class.

Class 4A Jones is the hottest team, having won 10 straight. Lake Mary, 7A, has won six straight since losing to 7A Dr. Phillips on Sept. 20. 5A Edgewater, after losing to Jones on Sept, 14, also has won six straight.

There will be three rematches of regular-season games in the first round. Apopka (5-5) will be at West Orange (8-2), which won the first meeting 25-7, in 7A.

Viera (4-6) will be at Kissimmee Osceola (8-2), which won the first game 49-9, in 6A.

In 1A, Orlando Christian Prep (4-5) will be at Melbourne Central Catholic (8-2). MCC won the first matchup in a shootout 51-42.

Several teams on the bubble fell out, including St. Cloud, which dropped to 5-5 after losing to Ridge Community on Thursday night.

The playoffs begin Nov. 15 (all games 7:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted):
