‘Stranger Things’ Cast Teases ‘Terrifying Threat’ at Season 4 Premiere

    No, Vecna did not attend.

Glamour replaced horror in the Stranger Things universe (for one night anyway) as the cast gathered for the red carpet premiere of Volume 4 in Brooklyn. And the actors who play our favorite rag-tag crew were eager to drop breadcrumbs about the upcoming season.

For fan favorite Eleven, that means striving to make a clean break from her past. “You’ll see her in this new... town, and she’s struggling... with how she can gain some independence from the people who have controlled her,” says Millie Bobby Brown.

The First Episode Title of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Has Been Revealed

Joe Keery, who plays lovable lunkhead Steve, promises that fans will start getting some answers they’ve been craving. “The season touches on the lure of what’s going on behind the scenes,” he says, adding that there are some “really great action sequences.”

Along with that action, expect some intense scares, too, says Sadie Sink (Max), who calls this season’s big bad, Vecna, “the most terrifying threat Hawkins has ever seen.” She adds, “this season is a lot darker than it’s ever been. And that also comes from us being a little more mature now, and the show has matured with us.”

As we’ve previously announced, the action picks up six months after the conclusion of Season 3 and will unfold in four separate locations: Russia, California, the lab and the Creel House.

“It’s been a long time coming,” says Brown. “We’re really excited for the fans to see it.”

Stranger Things Volume 4 premieres Friday, May 27, but you don’t have to wait till then to get your Hawkins fix. Starting May 20, our “Seven Stranger Days” series takes you behind the scenes and inside the lives of your Hawkins favorites with insight from the cast, crew and even the Duffer brothers. So check Tudum daily to secure your spot in the Hellfire Club — this is one ticking clock you won’t want to run from.
