Responsible Gambling
Building a culture of safer gambling in the U.S. is a team effort. These resources will help key stakeholders — operators, regulators, legislators, advocates and the media — to advance and implement the principles of responsible gambling within their communities.
Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP)
A U.S. accreditation for best practice in player protection in online gambling. iCAP accreditation inspires confidence in the sustainability of your platform among staff, shareholders and regulators.
Internet Responsible Gambling Standards (IRGS)
Reflecting a thorough review of international codes, empirical evidence and feedback from experts, the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards are meant to help all internet gambling stakeholders understand and deploy policies grounded in responsible gambling.
Responsible Gambling Verification (RGV) Program
The RGV Program helps lotteries plan, administer and maintain the tenets of responsible gambling throughout their organization. As of 2023, almost half of the lotteries in the U.S. have completed the program, affirming their commitment to industry best practices.
Responsible Gambling Resources
Drawing from our 50 years of experience in the field, NCPG has developed and compiled these documents to facilitate the conversation around responsible gambling and empower major stakeholders to carry out policies that protect against gambling-related harm.
Responsible Gambling Resources for Sports Betting
As legalized sports betting expands, NCPG is committed to ensuring that education, prevention and treatment don’t fall behind. We’re working to promote safer sports gambling behaviors through innovative partnerships, advocacy and policy recommendations.
Gift Responsibly Campaign
Research shows that the earlier a person’s participation or even exposure to gambling is in childhood, the more likely they are to develop a gambling problem later in life. The Gift Responsibly Campaign works to raise awareness about the risks of underage lottery use.
