The eight remaining Strictly Come Dancing contestants pulled out all the stops on Saturday night as the BBC show returned to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Each year, Blackpool Week is highly anticipated by both celebrities and viewers as the couples take to the world-famous dance floor.

Kicking off the episode in full swing, fans were treated to a special performance by the Pet Shop Boys, who opened the show with a medley of some of their greatest hits.

Some of the contestants blew the judges away with Sarah Hadland and Tasha Ghouri  earning the top spot on the leaderboard with a score of  39 for their routines.

On the other end, it seemed as though Pete Wicks and their professional partner Jowita Przystał weren't as successful, being given a total of 27.

Pete's score of 27 put him bottom of the leaderboard

However, viewers think they've worked out who will be axed from the show next as the competition after spotting some blunders

Taking to Twitter, one person saidL "Wynne needs the boot . Overmarked every week. Totally forgot some of the steps tonight .

Another added: "Think Wynne went a bit wrong but was hilarious."

"Just by the sheer number of mistakes, and the fact he looked like he’d forgotten most of the choreography, it’s an injustice that Wynne got eights after that routine.," reeled another.

Someone else commented: "I can see Wynne making the bottom 2 again, mistakes dotted around."

While another added: "Wynne NEEDS to go home … so many mistakes!"

Wynne was given a total of 31 for his routine on Saturday night

However, there were some viewers who loved the routine, with one person saying: "Love them or hate Wynne and Katya, but she always choreographs such fun and crazy dances, absolutely brilliant to watch."

Someone else commented: "Love Wynne!"

Currently, Wynne Evans is the favourite to leave the competition next, with his odds standing at 3/5, according to Grosvenor Sport.

Simon Kew, a spokesperson for Grosvenor Sport, commented: " We're at the halfway point of the series, and the remaining eight Strictly couples will battle it out on the dancefloor at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

"As the competition continues, the harder it’s going to get for the celebrities. Wynne Evans is our firm-favourite to be eliminated Strictly this weekend, priced at 3/5.

"Wynne has been in the danger zone for a few weeks now and was saved by the judges after he landed himself in the bottom two last weekend.”

Last weekend, Wynne found himself in the bottom two against Shayne Ward, who had found himself in the dance-off for a third time.

Although the judges were split in deciding who to save, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse saved Shayne, while Anton Du Beke chose Wynne.

This resulted in the head judge Shirley Ballas making the final decision, which was to keep Wynne in and send Shayne home.
