A woman who admitted trying to smother her terminally-ill father with a pillow got a 12-month suspended sentence yesterday.
But Jennifer Allwood's three sisters furiously insisted she "should have been jailed" instead of being ordered to do 150 hours' community work.
They said they are convinced she contributed to Alexander Thow's death death less than a month later as he was left "petrified" one of them might try to kill him next.
The 67-year-old cancer sufferer only survived the bid "to stop his misery" at his home in Cleethorpes, Lincs, when his granddaughter Lisa Marie, 20, dragged her mother off, Hull crown court heard.
Sisters Fiona, 38, Judy, 36, and Cherylee, 35, have now disowned married Allwood, 41, who has convictions including assault.
