The ex-wife of late Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley shared a throwback photo from back in the day on social media on Monday. The businesswoman posted a snap of her teenage self, aged 14, holding her furry friend gifted by her ex-husband, Elvis Presley upon her arrival to Memphis.

She explained that Elvis told her he had a "surprise" for her: "He presented me with a darling poodle that I named Honey. He was very sweet and so loving." The fluffy pooch and Presley were inseparable as they became constant companions.

The photo was taken after the duo had just landed in Memphis from Los Angeles but the businesswoman had no idea the photo was taken: "Little did I know a photographer was at the Memphis airport and took the photo as I left the plane."

Priscilla moved to Tennessee to be with rockstar Elvis in 1963 with the pair initially meeting in Germany during the jailhouse rock singer's two-year stint in the Army.

Elvis seemed to have an instant attraction towards young Priscilla after meeting her at a party at his house. At the time, the Dallas actress was living with her mother and stepfather, a US Air Force Captain.

Priscilla explained her relationship with Elvis from a young age: "It was not a sexual relationship, being 14 years old," at the press conference for Sofia Coppola's Priscilla biopic she commented further on the nature of the relationship: "I never had sex with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving but he also respected the fact that I was only 14 years old."

The pair married in 1967 in Las Vegas and welcomed their daughter Lisa Marie, nine months later. However, the couple divorced in 1973 but they always remained close: "We had our daughter, and I made sure that he saw her all the time. It was like they never left eachother."

Sadly, Elvis died at the age of 42 in 1977 and their daughter Lisa Marie passed away at age 54, shortly after the release of the 'Elvis' biopic.
