Membership in the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) offers benefits and privileges that will support you, your professional path, and the growth of the open source community.
As a non-profit organization, LPI has stakeholders, not shareholders, and focuses on its mission over profit. Our governance model includes a definition of a member which is designed to give our certified open source practitioners a say in the direction of the organization, as well as a number of other benefits. LPI is a member-based organization which encourages public trust while enabling practitioners to influence the direction and appreciation of their profession.

Maintain your credentials by keeping your certified status active without retaking exams and demonstrate your ongoing personal and professional development. By claiming Professional Development Units (PDUs) credits, you can use your ongoing education, experiences and community participation to maintain active certification status.

Terms of Membership
- Possess a professional level certification from LPI
- Agree to membership agreement and code of conduct
- Pay dues and maintain membership and certifications through PDUs.
