Last week, our DuPont™ Nomex® team hosted industry experts from the power transformer sector for a CIGRE Working Group meeting focused on the dynamic behavior of solid insulation materials for HV transformers. The meeting is part of the activities of the Joint Working Group D1/A2.79, within CIGRE Study Committees D1 and A2. We explored the performance of electrical insulation materials under high temperatures and continuous mechanical loads, which are pertinent to equipment assembling and operational scenarios such as processing, transportation, earthquakes, short circuits, offshore applications, among others. Over the course of two insightful days, we strengthened our collective understanding of electrical insulation material behaviour and defined a path forward for advancing technology and safety standards in our industry.
