  • 🌿 Integral Recognized in UNGC’s Release of 20 Cases of Sustainable Development in China for 20 Years Report Integral was honored as one of the “20 Cases of Private Sector’s Sustainable Development in China for 20 Years” by United Nations Global Compact (#UNGC). This recognition underscores our pioneering efforts in sustainability, from achieving zero wastewater discharge and promoting clean energy to advancing workplace equality and well-being.   • Concluding the 2024 Integral Conversation!   Guilin, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and traditional villages, provided the perfect setting for this year’s #IntegralConversation.   This morning, guests enjoyed a scenic bike tour through the countryside, immersing themselves in the local culture. Participants also took part in a natural dyeing workshop, where they crafted handmade scarves using traditional techniques, celebrating the beauty of indigo.   The #2024IntegralConversation has successfully concluded!   • The 2024 Integral Conversation concluded with a motivating closing address by Professor Hau Lee, Council Chair of the Integral Institute. Reflecting on over a decade of impactful dialogue, Professor Lee emphasized that Integral Conversation has been a thriving platform for diversity in all its forms. This diversity extends beyond gender, race, and biodiversity to include the crucial diversity of ideas. Over the past two days, participants from various sectors, industries, and geographies came together to share and learn.   • 📚 Panel 2B: Integrating Wellbeing into Education In this insightful session, panelists discussed the critical role of well-being in education. Professor June Qian, Associate Dean of Academics of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University; Professor Wei Shyy, former President at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Professor George Woo, Emeritus Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, shared their perspectives on how we can create a supportive environment to empower the next generation. Professor Qian emphasized the growing importance of education in sustainable development, highlighting the significance of a collaborative, sustainable education platform. Professor Shyy pointed out that universities should approach sustainability from various angles, including their mission and foundational frameworks, as well as behaviors and methods. Professor Woo stressed the importance of mental health, advocating for early monitoring and understanding of students' psychological issues to effectively manage and address these concerns. Meanwhile, Ms. Caroline Cheng, Co-Founder of Yi Design, showcased her creative projects that upcycle ceramic waste into eco-friendly designs, ensuring sustainability throughout the process. Mr. Andy Tung, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of QBN Capital, explored sustainability in global trade, emphasizing industry efforts to combat climate change by improving ship designs and fuel-saving technologies. Dr. Jun Suzuki, Senior Advisor of Teijin Limited, highlighted Teijin’s innovative circular practices, which integrate mechanical, physical, and chemical advancement, as well as the oxygen therapy systems, underscoring their commitment to societal well-being. Fung, Group Deputy Chairman of Fung Group; Ms. Hong Zheng, Founder of GREENEXT and Adventi Communication, shared their insights on creating ethical and effective supply chains. Ms. Chao emphasized the importance of expanding #IntegralConversation, encouraging practical initiatives that engage more participants and reach a wider audience. Ms. Cornish highlighted the need to shift consumer mindsets, aiming to help them understand sustainable practices better.     We had the honor of welcoming Dr. Victor Fung, Chairman of Fung Investments, who delivered an inspiring opening keynote on navigating global turbulence to ensure the long-term well-being of economies across Asia. He addressed the impact of geopolitical tensions on trade and SMEs, emphasizing Hong Kong’s role as a strategic trade hub. Dr. Fung also highlighted the importance of collaboration among governments, businesses, and institutions to support SMEs, which are crucial for sustainable development and community well-being.
