In short, #ExplainabilityinAI is the minimum required by any democratic system's principles of due process, which is arguably an even more impressive achievement of humankind. People get that AI is powerful. They still want to be treated fairly. There's your killer value prop. For organizations of any kind, including nations. Really exciting work from my friend Kelly Booz of AFT (American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO) in the area of AI and Education. From the perspective of transformative technology and its impact on society, it's essential to consider how AI will shape the future workforce. This begins with education. We cannot shield our children from AI and expect them to thrive in a marketplace that will ultimately integrate both human and AI-driven labor. The guidance emphasizes the importance of integrating AI risk management into existing cybersecurity strategies. Below are the most important highlights: AI-Enhanced Cyber Threats: AI can be exploited by threat actors to enhance cyberattacks, including deepfakes and AI-enabled social engineering, making such attacks more convincing and widespread. Data Security Risks: The vast amounts of sensitive, non-public information required for AI models increase the potential for data theft and breaches, both within firms and across third-party vendors. Supply Chain Vulnerabilities: The use of third-party AI solutions increases exposure to supply chain risks, necessitating robust vendor management practices to mitigate vulnerabilities. Risk Assessments: Financial firms must conduct thorough risk assessments that account for AI-related risks, as part of their broader cybersecurity programs required by NYDFS's Cybersecurity Regulation (23 NYCRR 500).
