#ICYMI: I was recently asked to chair a Space Sustainability Task Force with the AIAA , and we're off to a brilliant start. We’ve already had about 50 volunteers join from all around the world! One key question we’re exploring: How can we incorporate the wisdom of Indigenous and traditional ecological knowledge into our approach to space sustainability? What does it really mean to be a steward of our space environment, and how do we apply those principles to keep space sustainable for future generations? I’m really looking forward to diving into this work and sharing the journey with you all. Booya! 🤙🏾 https://lnkd.in/eyg5vApc #SpaceSustainability #TaskForce #aiaa #sustainability

🛰️ The orbital highway is filling up fast, and single-use satellites are pushing us toward a crisis. Fact: Single-use satellites are like the early days of plastic—revolutionary and cheap, but ultimately disposable. And look where that got us: Earth is littered with single-use plastics, with only a small fraction actually recycled (about 9% GLOBALLY!) Today’s “launch and leave” model for satellites mirrors this mindset, creating "space litter" that threatens sustainability in orbit. We need a circular space economy where we design satellites for modularity, repair, and recycling to keep orbits sustainable, instead of letting them die on orbit and become someone else's problem. As chair of the AIAA Space Sustainability Task Force, I'm committed to this shift. Together, with diverse insights from everything from decision intelligence to traditional ecological knowledge, we can protect space as a resource for future generations. The time to act is now. Level ⬆️!🤙🏾 Read this month's full article at Aerospace America magazine (AIAA) at the link below. https://lnkd.in/eg5Q6wBX #space #sustainability #spaceeconomy #circulareconomy #celestialstewardship

We just completed our 27th mission, debuting the second human-rated vehicle for the New Shepard program. The uncrewed verification flight sent 12 payloads to space and back, including tens of thousands of Club for the Future postcards. Bit.ly/3XPzxrX #NS27
