    Satellite imagery offers large-scale, consistent, and frequent observations of the Earth’s surface. Invaluable for decision-making in government and commercial applications, organizations are challenged with analyzing the increasing amount of data with a limited number of experts. John Ploschnitznig explains that AI offers a solution to handle this large volume of data - but the AI algorithms require training data to identify desired objects in complex SAR scenes. Ansys RF Channel Modeler will generate synthetic SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) data that will help train and validate these new AI algorithms. Coming very soon, Ansys will be offering a complimentary data set of a specific ground-based object detection scenario to explore how well-structured synthetic data can be used. It will enable organizations to demonstrate the effectiveness of their AI/ML detection algorithms. #AIML #SAR

  • Exceeding the maximum temperature in electronic devices can cause damage and shorten their lifespan. Heat sinks enhance heat dissipation, keeping devices cooler. Utilizing ~250 accurate Conjugate Heat Transfer CFD simulations, we've created an AI model for heat sinks with varying fin sizes and arrangements. This AI predicts temperature and velocity fields in just 10 seconds, with a max temperature error of ~3 K compared to CFD. The AI model allows for rapid, accurate 3D volumetric field predictions, significantly reducing design cycle time by enabling faster design space exploration and optimization for topology variations in a non-parametric way. #TechTips #HeatManagement #Electronics #AI #CFD #SimAI #artificialingelligence

  • 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀: 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 Microstructure determines the properties of a material. Understanding how microstructure affects properties plays an important role in disciplines such as chemistry, materials science, and engineering. With pySimAI, we automated a trained SimAI model to rapidly make predictions to capture stress field on the microstructure and the stress-strain curve. Here we predicted 40 uniformly spaced strain steps for an unseen microstructure. The animations compare the SimAI stress prediction with Ansys crystal plasticity simulation. We see great agreement on the two stress-strain curves and the stress field predictions properly captured the grains of high stress. The model was trained on 30 steady, 3D Fluent simulations of diverse tank designs.
