Labour's Free Breakfast Clubs

Labour recently announced that free breakfast clubs across England will run from April to July 2025, with a trial of 750 primary schools in deprived areas. It's great to see something being done that will have a genuine impact on families across the country.

The NFER recently reported that one third of teachers found more pupils are coming to school hungry than in recent years.

Hopefully this new breakfast club scheme will help to address poverty and reduce absence rates in deprived areas. All children should be able to enjoy breakfast in a safe, secure environment and start their day the right way!🍌🍎🥣

Single headline Ofsted grades are officially scrapped, but what does this mean for schools?

This month marked the end of single heading Ofsted grades, a decision that has been warmly welcomed by many educators.

Removing single headline grades helps to make a school's performance much clearer to parents, whilst removing some of the pressure on educators to feel defined by a single word.

School Report Cards will be introduced from September 2025, to instead provide more transparency about a school's performance as a change from what we believe were harmful, reductive grading systems. Read more here.
