Social media has always been in the spotlight for both sellers and buyers because users just scroll through their feeds and fall in love with the things that catch their attention. Organizations have long looked to social media to help build brand awareness for their products and services because of the variety of benefits it provides - from targeting audiences to accessing data-driven insights.

With the majority of the world under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the only feasible ways to sell is through social media. More people are spending more of their free time surfing through social media to keep themselves entertained as shopping malls and movie theatres have shut down, cutting down the possible options for entertainment. Facebook traffic increased by 27% between January and March 2020.

Organizations have now started building and settling on standards for social media advertising, taking it more seriously than ever before and surpassing all expected metrics. Brands have increased their social activities to stay ahead of their competitors and brands strive to produce out-of-the-box content to keep their audience interested and engaged. Many small companies have hyped up their social platform presence and are looking for new ways to make noise through advertising.
