What’s the Right PAD Treatment for Me?
Early detection and treatment of PAD are critical to preventing complications, preserving limb function, and improving the quality of life. That’s why health providers are raising awareness during PAD Awareness Month.
We want to “kick off the conversation” for a disease that 1 in 20 Americans have, but many aren’t aware of. That’s why health providers from the PAD Pulse Alliance developed the Patient Pathway Toolkit to help you “kick off the conversation” about PAD. You can download it at www.padpulse.org.
Step 3 of the toolkit covers treatment for PAD. Depending on the severity of your diagnosis, there are several treatment options for PAD. If caught early, you may only need to take medication and get more exercise. change your diet. There are many options for more severe cases, including minimally invasive procedures or surgery to restore blood flow to your limb. Your care team will work with you to determine the best path forward.
