WHAT DOES LEADERSHIP IN ACTION LOOKS LIKE?
Leadership is the process of setting directions, building an inspiring vision, and creating something new. For being a good leader, you will have to determine where you need to go to win as a team. There are no specific sets of rules to follow if you want to build leadership qualities. In the end, it is all about using your skills to guide your team or organization in an efficient and smooth manner.
There is a very famous saying - "Fake it till you make it." It is almost like that. One can compare it to driving. You can read about it to get knowledge but have to step into a car to learn driving.
WHAT IS LEADERSHIP IN ACTION?
There are two fundamental acts of leadership. They include:
- Speaking Up - Expressing your views in an ongoing discussion and stating your thoughts can be the first sign of a good start. It can give a very positive outlook to others, and they will start taking you seriously.
- Stepping Up and/or Standing Up - Stand up for something that matters to you and doesn't hide. If you want to lead, then build the courage to make a difference.
Taking one step at a time can be a lot better than hurrying up in this process. It takes some time to adjust to a new attitude. But it will be worth the wait when you see yourself leading.
