Wellness Is the Word

Wellness Is the Word

Does your company care about your well-being?

More and more, employees are asking themselves whether their organizations view them as more than just a cog in the machine — and the best companies have taken notice. Why? For Procter & Gamble, the answer is simple: When you prioritize workers’ wellness, there’s a clear ROI.

“A company can only deliver the best results if our people are at their best and work as a team,” says Sameh Magdy, P&G’s SVP of Human Resources for Global Talent Rewards, Employee, Labor Relations and Corporate Services. “Can you imagine preparing for the Super Bowl with a team that’s tired, under mental pressure, or has trust issues with their coach? No team can operate well with that dynamic.”

In this week’s Wake-Up Call at Work, we’ve got the inside scoop on how P&G supports its global workforce and how the disruption of the pandemic caused the company to further strengthen its approach to wellness.

Many times the physical illnesses, mental health problems and physical/body problems are related to the job. Ergonomics are extremely important. The stresses of the workplace such as doing the job of two people because a company wants to keep the bottom line strong. Working in spaces without proper ventilation or without proper cleaning. Sometimes the the way the physical plant staff may clean is not the best. For example in a restaurant how do you wipe the table where customers eat with the same cloth you wipe chairs were people sit?
