This Week in E-commerce: Don't Miss These Updates
Klaviyo's Countdown Timer Block: A New Way to Drive Urgency
Klaviyo has rolled out a new feature: a countdown timer block in the popup editor. It’s tailor-made for adding urgency to your promotions—especially as Black Friday is around the corner.
Why is this good news? Countdown timers are excellent for driving action. When you can visually show visitors how much time they have left to grab a deal, you increase the odds of them taking action.
Already have a list of engaged subscribers? Don’t let them miss out. You can create a specific popup just for your existing email list to remind them of time-sensitive offers.
To add this feature, go to your Klaviyo dashboard, navigate to the popup editor, and look for the new countdown timer block. Drag it into your popup, set the timer, and you’re good to go.
Big Brands Trust Shopify: Welcome Nike Strength and Dollar Shave Club
Contrary to some opinions that Shopify is only for small to medium-sized businesses, two industry giants have recently joined the platform. Nike Strength has launched a dedicated store for gym equipment, and Dollar Shave Club, a leader in subscription-based grooming products, has also made the switch. These moves underscore Shopify's versatility and scalability, proving it's a robust choice for businesses of all sizes. If these household names trust Shopify for their needs, it's a strong indicator that you're in good hands, whether you're just starting out or already running a thriving store.
Centralize Your In-Store Experience with Shopify's Latest Update for POS
Shopify's Smart Grid for POS has always been customizable. The new Extensions setting takes it up a notch by letting you manage third-party app tiles for all store locations directly from the Shopify admin. Now, you can ensure that your employees have a consistent interface, no matter which store they're in. Streamlined, centralized, and efficient—that's the latest from Shopify.
Coming Soon: Targeted Discounts for Shopify Subscriptions
Watch this space: Shopify is about to make subscriptions more flexible than ever. You'll soon be able to set up discounts specifically for subscription products. Whether you want to offer a deal just for subscribers, exclusively for one-time purchases, or for both, Shopify is making it easy. This feature will give you even more ways to manage and grow your recurring revenue.

1yThe count down timer block is something i am definitely trying soon. Great! Shopify can be frustrating with limitations on certain features, happy to see big brands like Nike jump on the bandwagon, it gives hope of growth for small businesses while still being on shopify. Will the targeted discounts be an inhouse feature by shopify? or do we have to get it in an app. Currently, some apps like Appstle allow this. Great read 👍 looking forward to more educative material like this.
