Wazi Developer Fundamentals - New Badge Course Released

IBM is proud to announce the latest addition to our DevOps Acceleration Program course catalogue, the IBM Wazi Developer Fundamentals course. This self-paced, online course takes roughly 8 hours to complete, and grants an official Acclaim/Credly badge upon completion which you can display to show off your achievement.

This course is designed to provide the learner with an introduction to IBM Wazi Developer. IBM Wazi Developer for Red Hat CodeReady Workspaces is a productive development environment that fully integrates into any enterprise-wide standard DevOps pipeline. It delivers 3 key components - Wazi Sandbox, Wazi Code, and Wazi Analyze to let you analyze, develop, build, test, and deploy z/OS application code with modern tools.

  • Wazi Sandbox creates an environment for mainframe application demonstration, development, testing, and education without Z Mainframe hardware, enables z/OS® middleware, and other z/OS software to run on Intel and other compatible computers, and emulates z/Architecture® with virtual I/O and devices.
  • Wazi Code enables the development of COBOL, PL/I, High-Level Assembler (HLASM) and REXX programs through the use of an industry-standard integrated development environment (IDE). You can choose between Red Hat CodeReady Workspaces, Microsoft VS Code, and Eclipse, all of which are included in the course materials.
  • Wazi Analyze is a containerized component that creates rapid, graphical analysis in an installation-free and configuration-free web UI. With Wazi Analyze, developers can discover the relationships among their z/OS application artifacts and quickly understand the impact of the changes they want to make.

The course's curriculum is custom designed, tailored with the working professional in mind. Regardless if you're being freshly introduced to Wazi Developer, or are looking to gain a working knowledge of the product, the IBM Wazi Developer Fundamentals course is the first step in starting your journey.

By presenting the core learning through quality and varied text, visuals, and videos, alongside hands-on workshop scenarios, we try to cover multiple learning styles and make the course as accessible as possible. With the power of IBM's zTrial technology, a cloud-based platform from which you can explore IBM tech with near-zero footprint on your local machine, the hands-on workshops scenarios are accessible on nearly every device.

The course is available at no-cost-to-you, and the self-paced nature of the course means that you can complete the course on your own timeframe. No fixed-time online meetings and no deadlines mean you simply progress through the course when you have time. Flexibility is the key to success in today's work, and the DevOps Acceleration Team at IBM is happy to help provide this knowledge transfer in a flexible and accessible way.

After you've completed the course, we want to hear from you. We hope to be able to iteratively improve upon the course, and that requires your feedback. Included in the course is a feedback and support form for use upon completion. Everything from small suggestions to overarching changes to the course is appreciated and valued.
