Wall of Shame – How NOT to take Property Photos
For those of you who have been following my Wall of Shame for a while, you’ll know that agents’ photography skills are not high! Welcome to another batch of Wall of Shame images – this week, how NOT to take property photos!
Basic but it clearly needs stating here – be careful not to get your fingers in the shot!
Oooooo…. Feeling seasick yet? Fisheye lenses are best left to the pros to use, and are not the right choice for property photography.
Getting the exposure right – every image of this property had the same ‘fogginess’ over it – caused by the wrong setting on the camera! If you don’t know what you’re doing with the exposure, put your camera on auto and leave it to its job.
I get what the agent was trying to do here – to highlight the Velux windows in this home – but this just doesn’t work!!
Lastly – thanks to Alexander James in Newcastle for this find – a shocking example (but certainly far from unusual) demonstrating how a wide-angled lens can mislead and misrepresent! Imagine how disappointed you’d be to view this kitchen, having seen this photo?
Well that’s it for another Wall of Shame; if you’d like to see some more, why not head over to my Pinterest board. And if you don’t already get my Selling Secrets, you’ll find them here – they are free and fabulous!
Till next time
