Let's Talk About Pronouns
Using someone’s correct name and pronouns; and respecting their humanity is not optional. It’s required. ~ Miller
Let's Talk About It.
Sharing your pronouns has nothing to do with being transgender.
It has everything to do with creating an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender (identity or expression), is respected. Full stop.
As you enter the chat/zoom/teams/meeting/etc., try introducing yourself with your name and pronouns and inviting others to join you.
A mindful note: Everyone may not be in a space to share their name and pronouns. We must hold space for all of our identities, voices, experiences, and capacities.
This work is expansive.
Remember, this isn't the "woke" Olympics.
This is an invitation to create an inclusive environment.
A moment to pause and reflect.
What's important to you? Who/what does your organization value?
It is important to me to honor someone in the fullness of their humanity. There is a quote from James Baldwin that always comes to mind:
"We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist. ~ James Baldwin
The simple act of sharing your pronouns and creating an opportunity for others to do the same can make a world of difference in the spaces you lead and occupy.
Let's continue the conversation in the comments...
My name is Miller, and my pronouns are he/him, they/them, and my name, miller. I am the CEO of The Miller Consulting Group (#TheMCG). Who would like to share next? 😊
If you or an organization is looking to create a gender-expansive environment, drop “PROGRESS” in the comments or connect with me (Miller) on LinkedIn.

Can I reserve the right to not share pronouns? I have a name. If in doubt, you can use that instead of a pronoun.
