The Working Mind: Employee Course

The Working Mind (TWM) program is essential for veterinary team members, addressing workplace mental health challenges inherent to the profession, such as workflow pressures and moral distress. This 5-hour session is hosted by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and facilitated by Dr. Marie Holowaychuk; it equips participants to understand, recognize, and support mental health challenges. The course utilizes interactive materials and goal setting to enhance resilience and reduce stigma, leading to improved mental wellbeing for veterinary professionals.
Workplace Allyship: How to Have Daring Conversations, American Veterinary Medical Association Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Wellbeing Summit

While some veterinary organizations have policies and programs to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion, many leaders and employees still struggle with knowing how to show up as allies for those with marginalized identities. In this timely workshop using activities from the Step into Your Moxie® vocal empowerment system, participants will explore the mindset and behaviors required to show up as an ally in the workplace. They will also practice communication strategies and prompts to make a habit of creating safety and belonging for daring, necessary conversations about identity.
