TorontoIRL Events - August 2024
6 Events (Sorted by Date)
👨 = I’m attending. ⭐ = I’m the host
⭐ Aug 7 - I’m collaborating with Victor Li who’s recently opened a coworking space shared with onova. Come meet other entrepreneurs and tech folks.
👨 Aug 7 evening - I’m going to a chess meetup downtown with Derek Jouppi, and some more founders!
👨 Aug 8 - Pavilion is collaborating with Qasim Virjee's StartWell (media studio) to host a community event for both members and non members.
👨 Aug 12 Rime Salmi is back with her web3 brunch!
⭐ Aug 22 - I’m hosting an intimate dinner for 7 Figure Agency Owners along with Eric Lay. Super exclusive, just 12 seats and super in-depth discussions.
⭐ August 25 - Puppy Yoga is here! This one is mostly about having fun and less about networking. Because it almost always sells out, I went and pre-purchased 24 tickets for my subscribers. So when you buy it, it’s just reimbursing me and reserving your spot among friends. Love to see you there!

👨 Ryan’s Corner - What Is He Up To?
I’m starting to reach terms that perhaps curated dinners are not the best growth channel for most B2B companies.
I think that its a killer strategy when paired with conference selling (way better ROI than a booth) but otherwise it’s better to start with digital channels as they are lower overhead and more scalable.
With that being said, I will still be doing some curated dinners but my consulting work is slightly shifting based on my clients needs. Realizing that Clay allows teams to send out 3000 personalized cold email a month… the power of this growth channel is just unmatched.
Pivoting always feels hard as you have to let go of things - but I truly believe the market always wins. Customer demand should always dictate your offering.
