Tell us about what you do in 50 words or less

As a Sales Development Representative, I identify and qualify opportunities for the Thoughtworks growth team to collaborate with ambitious organizations aiming to elevate digital experiences for their customers and employees. To accomplish this, I prospect leads, manage our outbound sales campaigns and lead initial discovery calls with prospective clients.

What’s the most interesting challenge you're working on?

I'm currently collaborating with our client principals on a new initiative to streamline and formalize our outbound strategy for client expansion. We're pinpointing critical target areas within our existing client base where we can enhance their digital objectives and secure meetings with key decision-makers in those areas. This initiative is geared towards accelerating the pace and efficiency of our client expansion endeavours.

What inspired you to have the career you have today?

During my degree at Dalhousie University, I participated in various co-op placements  ranging from finance, project management and professional sports. When I got an opportunity to complete a co-op placement with the HFX Wanderers Football Club, I discovered my passion for sales. I got a taste of what a potential career in sales could look like and experiencing the direct impact sales can have on an organization's success motivated me immensely. I was inspired by the notion that the only limit to your success is correlated with the level you are willing to put in.

What achievement are you most proud of in your career to date?

Remaining resilient over the past year and a half has been a key achievement. Despite fluctuations in outbound success, with some periods feeling more challenging, it's been crucial to stay positive even when it feels like nothing is playing out in the team's favour.

If you could go back in time and give yourself career advice, what would it be?

Organization is everything.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities, such as spending time with friends, playing golf, traveling, exploring new breweries, and attending live music events (Halifax offers some great options!). My greatest passion outside of work is lacrosse. I've been playing for over 15 years, which has allowed me to forge lifelong friendships and play in incredible locations across Canada, the US and even in Prague.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what album, movie, and book would you take with you?

Album - I like a lot of wacky music so it’s hard to pick an album, I’d have to go with any mix by Chris Luno - a very cool DJ out of Berlin

Movie - The Grand Budapest Hotel

Book - The Harry Potter series

And finally, what’s your favorite product and why?

My favourite product would have to be Sonos speakers. The seamless ability to switch audio output between different speakers throughout your space makes enjoying music all the much better. The ease of use is unparalleled.
