Sure enable 4G OSS interop in 3G network

As Sure International rolled out their next generation Online Charging System (OCS) from Cerillion they needed to insure seamless backward compatibility with their existing 3G network.

The role of the Interworking Function was to allow interop between the supported DIAMETER signalling of the OCS platform and the legacy signalling on Sures 3G network.

“It was interesting to see how the project unfolded as we needed to support not only standard DIAMETER to CAMEL interworking but also USSD Gateway functionality to enable billing support for pre-paid subscribers on Sure 3G network, by integrating with the proprietary API’s supported on the OCS.
