Stories of Transformation and Inspiration for a Balanced Career(YGT📧53)

Hello and happy Sunday,

welcome to another YOU GOT THIS! Newsletter.

Germany has been in soccer fever at the latest after the game against Hungary. No matter where I am in Germany, there are screens everywhere and people are watching and celebrating together. With all the problems and challenges, it feels good and shows that people have much more in common than it might seem in everyday life.

AND two more headlines give hope: the much-discussed "pink" national jersey beats all sales records and the Danish national team sets an example for equality.

So, our 2024 summer fairytale can continue ;-)

But now, let's focus on your career. In today’s edition of my newsletter, I´ll write about these three topics:

👉 My latest learning: How Coaching Helped Me Discover My Power and Energy to Change My Life

👉 Career Inspiration: My Journey to a Fulfilling Career

👉 Female Leadership: Admiring Leaders for Their Soft Skills

👉 My latest learning: How Coaching Helped Me Discover My Power and Energy to Change My Life

At a pivotal moment in my life, I found myself stuck and feeling down. My energy levels were at their lowest, and despite having invested everything into my career, I felt burnt out and bored. This realization that I needed a change led me to seek coaching, a decision that profoundly transformed my life.

I engaged in a coaching program with weekly group coaching sessions, which became a cornerstone of my personal development journey. These sessions were structured around impulse questions and interactive discussions that encouraged deep self-reflection. The regularity of the meetings and the group dynamic provided a supportive environment that was both challenging and nurturing.

Initially, my expectations of coaching were high, given my belief in its potential. I was already an advocate for coaching, and this faith was only strengthened through my personal experience. The process not only met but exceeded my expectations, ultimately inspiring me to become a coach myself. Witnessing firsthand the transformative power of coaching, I was compelled to help others in the same way I had been helped.

One of the most significant breakthroughs came during an exercise where I was asked to envision how I wanted to be described at the age of 80. This simple yet profound question shifted my perspective entirely. It prompted me to consider the legacy I wanted to leave behind and the kind of person I aspired to be. This vision became a powerful motivator, fueling my drive to make meaningful changes in my life.

The coaching process helped me recognize my own power and energy through a combination of weekly impulse questions and targeted tasks. These exercises enabled me to distill my focus into a few key areas, gradually clarifying my goals and aspirations. The iterative nature of this process allowed me to refine my objectives continually, embedding a sense of purpose and direction that has remained with me.

As a result of coaching, I have made several significant changes in my life. I learned to do less but better, focusing on high-impact activities rather than spreading myself too thin. I adopted new habits that have been game-changers, such as maintaining a daily gratitude journal. This simple practice has shifted my mindset to a more positive and appreciative outlook, enhancing my overall well-being.

The habits I developed during coaching have been crucial in maintaining the momentum and energy I gained. Every small step counts, and I have learned to appreciate incremental progress. These habits, reinforced by the clarity and focus I achieved through coaching, continue to drive my personal and professional growth.

For anyone considering coaching as a means of personal development, my advice is straightforward: trust the process and choose a coach you trust. Commitment is key. By staying committed to the process and being open to self-discovery, you can unlock your potential and find the energy to make significant changes in your life.

In conclusion, coaching has been instrumental in helping me realize that I have the power and energy to change my life.

👉 Career Inspiration: My Journey to a Fulfilling Career

Do you find yourself going in circles in your head every day, coming home frustrated from work, and wondering what you can do to finally solve this unpleasant situation? 🙄 Did you imagine your dream job differently—less stress and more flow and joy at work?

I know this feeling all too well. In my previous job, I was in a similar situation: daily stress, being stuck in routines, constantly doubting my abilities, and feeling unsatisfied. I kept asking myself, "Why does it seem so easy for others and not for me? I must just need to try harder."

But that's not the solution. Doubts are okay—they help us question ourselves and initiate changes—but they shouldn't dominate your entire daily life.

I quit my job back then and found a new position. But after some time in long-term client projects, I soon felt like I was back on the hamster wheel. Even after various trainings to improve my professional standing, something still didn’t feel right.

Only when I started to delve deeper into self-reflection did I find the courage to take new paths and leave my comfort zone. I realized that my strengths—what makes me unique—are something entirely different from my professional skills. This boosted my self-confidence and motivation, gradually guiding me toward my new fulfilling job.

The Good News: It Doesn’t Have to Be a Resignation! There are many small adjustments we can make to reshape our existing workday to find new motivation and satisfaction. And I can help you with that.

My Coaching Program: Your Path to an Amazing Career Through my experiences and further education, I offer a coaching program that allows you to make this shift as well. In 15 1:1 sessions, we go through the 5 stages of my Coaching Program Amazing Career Gain Self-Awareness: Understand who you really are and what you want. Overcome Limiting Beliefs: Identify and eliminate the blocks that are holding you back. Create a Compelling Vision: Define clear goals that inspire and motivate you. Adjust Your Thinking and Habits: Develop practical strategies to achieve your goals. Own Your Career: Equip yourself with tools and techniques for sustainable success.

A common misconception is that career coaching is only about optimizing resumes and practicing interviews. My approach is different. It’s about empowering you to take control of your career and enhance your professional and personal satisfaction.

👉 Female Leadership: Admiring Leaders for Their Soft Skills

What skill do you particularly like?

Have you ever noticed that all we really like about leaders are soft skills? They can listen, are empathetic, are authentic, are honest, can make decisions, and stand by what they say. These qualities often outshine technical expertise or industry knowledge.

So, here's the task today: Think of a manager who you think is particularly great. Someone who simply does their job well and is a role model. Reflect on the soft skills they embody that make them admirable.

For me, the leaders I truly admire are those who remain human and have fulfilling private lives. They don't just chase today's trend but have a profile, stand for something, and respect others. These leaders demonstrate balance, integrity, and foresight, qualities that resonate deeply with me.

Consider what you admire in others and why. Is it their ability to connect with people, their authenticity, or their steadfastness in their values? By reflecting on these traits, we can better understand what makes a leader truly great and inspire ourselves to cultivate these same qualities.
