Starting My Consulting Business
Starting anything new can seem pretty daunting. However one of my favourite coaching questions is “what’s the very first step?” so when I decided to start my own consulting business this year, that’s the question I had to ask myself.
And that’s where I start, today, with this very first step introduction to my new consulting business.
What’s the purpose?
From several iterations on white boards I finally settled on a clear purpose, something that excites me and inspires me to take that very first step; enabling small and medium sized businesses to access the level of quality consulting that larger organisations benefit from. In a nutshell it’s about creating a little bit more of an even playing field.
Of course, it involves me doing things I am passionate about: helping leadership teams be more effective, creating humanistic high-performing cultures and supporting the development of clear, focussed strategies for success.
Having worked with some of the top global consulting organisations, and blue-chip clients, I am really excited to be able to use this know-how to help the growth of SME’s.
Was the first step really that hard?
It turns out the first step doesn’t actually need too much analysis as taking the first step is simply a learning process, we learn as we move forward. So, whether you feel your culture could be improved, your strategy clearer or your leadership teams more effective just taking that first step helps you figure out what it actually is you need to address
