SMART Goals are not always a good option

SMART Goals are not always a good option

SMART goals are bad ,

ok just kidding🙂

i love sometimes using some Attacking words ,

anyway let talk about why SMART goals are not always the best option to set a goal especially if it’s a big goal

just remind you SMART Goals are the viaribels that you put to set a goal ,

and it is defined in the word SMART which means

S , Specific : For a goal to be effective, it needs to be specific. A specific goal answers questions like:

M, Measurable : Specificity is a solid start, but quantifying your goals (that is, making sure they’re measurable) makes it easier to track progress and know when you’ve reached the finish line.

A , Achievable : This is the point in the process when you give yourself a serious reality check. Goals should be realistic — not pedestals from which you inevitably tumble. Ask yourself: is your objective something your team can reasonably accomplish?

R , Relevant : Here’s where you need to think about the big picture. Why are you setting the goal that you’re setting?

T , Time-bound : To properly measure success, you and your team need to be on the same page about when a goal has been reached. What’s your time horizon? When will the team start creating and implementing the tasks they’ve identified? When will they finish?

(want to dive more in it ?here’s an article about it)

Ok , i’m not against SMART goals because I used them ; but my point is in not every situation these kind of goals will work for you ,

and why ? i’m writing this letter is because when people use it wro,g they will get wrong results ,

and they get wrong results they blame the technique instead of blaming themselves ,

so don’t use it in the wrong way ,

How ?

by ignoring one single KEY in the technique which is the Time-bound

if the goals is hard to achieve and requires a lot of time don’ set a times for it ,

For example if your goal said I want to land 3 clients in a month ,

what happens If after a month you can’t achieve it ?

you will get overwhelmed , frustrated and have low motivation

let the goal be achievable at any time you reach your wants ,

I know the deadline effect that I effects you to show the best of your work and pressure it’s helpful to accomplish things quickly , but not everytime ,

set a time when the goal is simple and small and especially in your control ,

achieving the best shape at the gym depends on how much you hit the GYM ,

which means depended on you speceficly ,

One other point when it comes to specific be specific as much as you can don’t make any options to choose , achieve one single thing not ten things at the time ,

do you want to achieve ten thing ? set ten goals not one goal with ten options ,

when it comes to Measuring , know wisely what to measure , what metrics , KPI’s and number to measure and make sure you support your measurement with analyzing ,

and lastly Achivebale and relevant ,

relevant is your WHY? and achievable is your HOW? because when we how ? we’re talking about taking action and action is what leads to achievement ,

because if it’s not achievable there is no actions that leads to it on the first place ,

and my here’s my last word for you ,

don’t set SMART Goals at the start , just set simple goals ,

my goals is X and i will achieving it by doing Y in a period os Z (if its neccesarry to set a timer if not there no Z)

Example ,

my goal is to write a book by writing Daily in the main topic of the book

just set the goal and the main action that lead to achieve it

Why ? i’m telling you this , because most of people use techniques and methods for a fancy life and that it’s kind of procrastination for me

use the simplest methods and achieve incredible results ,

thank you (DAY25 )

keep achieving and
