The Secret That’s Helped Me Achieve All My Goals (and more) Since 2017...
If you’re looking for a quick fix or a “golden nugget,” this isn’t for you.
This is for the realists - the ones who understand that greatness takes time, consistency, and dedication. It’s for those tired of being misled by Instagram highlights and ready to invest in their future.
Here’s the truth: New Year’s Eve isn’t disappointing because of a bad night out. It’s disappointing because it forces you to reflect on a year where you might not have achieved what you said you would.
In your defence, 12 months is rarely enough time to create something substantial.
So, what’s my secret?
A 24-Month Plan
I did say this isn't going to be a quick fix!!
This strategy transformed my approach to success and turned even underwhelming NYEs into moments of pride. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Envision Your Future
Close your eyes and imagine exactly where you want to be in two years. What do you see, hear, and feel? Create a vision so vivid that it becomes your anchor. ⚓
👉🔮 Everything you do moving forward should contribute to this vision.
For reference: the picture attached to this article is where I envision myself. Back in 2017, this was my dream villa in Vietnam. I could feel the cool water in the pool on my skin, the sun on my face, the breeze, and the taste of a strawberry daiquiri. 🍓
But most importantly I could imagine the feelings of achievement, and feeling proud of how far I had come - this is often referred to as State Management, as if you are picturing your future life as a movie.
For inspiration, check out this story of how Olympic Gold medalist Ben Hunt-Davis’ team asked one question for two years: “Will it make the boat go faster?”

Step-by-Stey Guide to Build Your Plan (after your vision is crystal clear)
1️⃣ Set a BIG Goal to Achieve by the end of 2026
Pick a goal so ambitious that it scares you a little. Almost anything is achievable in two years if you stay consistent. Others may call you crazy, or say it's impossible, but this method can lead you to achieve incredible things if you trust the process.
Your goal needs to be specific.
Instead of ❌ "I want to buy a house"
Say something like ✅ "I want to buy an investment property for X amount in X location".
2️⃣ 12-24 Month Milestones
Outline what you aim to accomplish in this timeframe. These should also be substantial since you have 12 months to prepare for them, but still smaller than your big end goal. Using the example above, if your big goal is to purchase a property, your other goals may include a promotion at work, or a holiday to a dream location etc.
3️⃣ Annual Goals
Write down what you want to achieve by the end of 2025. Remember to be specific.
4️⃣ Break It Down Further
Split your goals into halves (H1/H2) and quarters (Q1/Q2). Each list should include both personal and professional goals, as each goal is intertwined with one another - your personal life is often a reflect of your professional life, and vice versa.
5️⃣ Start Small
Know exactly what you need to achieve in January and February to kickstart your progress. Everything you do you should be asking "Is this going to help me achieve my big goal, and for me to put myself in my vision? (aka will this make the boat go faster).
If your goal is to purchase a property, you may need to tighten up your spending habits.
If your goal is to enhance your career, then it may be getting off to a good start in January.
PS: The more visual you can make this the better, if you are creative, a mood board to have alongside your written plan would work exceptionally well.
PSS: Make sure you have a small booklet, a page on your iPhone notes, or, even better, a whiteboard to track your progress. Record all the small wins each month - no matter how insignificant they may seem, like running a personal best 5K.
This simple habit shifts your mindset into that of a winner. And here’s the thing: winners always find more ways to win.
Example: Your Big Goal is Buying a Property
Any significant goal like buying a property, or building a successful sales desk is extremely difficult from a standing start.
So let’s say you want to buy a house, but you have no savings today - putting this goal in 2026 is far more realistic than trying to do it any sooner.
Big Goal (2026): Buy a property.
2025 Milestone: Save at least 60% of the deposit by year-end.
H1 2025 Goal: Have 25% of the deposit saved and begin to look at your options.
Q1 Actions: Cut out unnecessary expenses like alcohol, junk food, and impulse purchases. Build discipline by sticking to a fitness routine - it’s about becoming the kind of person who can achieve big goals.
Even without buying the property by the end of 2025, you’ll look back with pride, knowing you’ve made huge strides toward your dream, and know that you are on track to do so. You will recognise at the end of the year how much progress you have made, and the money you have saved has a greater purpose and should be protected rather than spent aimlessly.
You have to START NOW!
December is the time to prepare for the year ahead - not to slow down. A strong January starts with the decisions you make today.
When I built my first 24-Month Plan in 2017, I had nothing. But with this method, I transformed my life. It can do the same for you.
The plan is simple, but it doesn't offer overnight success. It requires consistent commitment.
You cannot worry about what others think about you. Anyone who is successful doesn't have time to worry about what others think about them.
Are you entering January with the same mindset as before? Or are you ready to make the next two years the most impactful of your life? The choice is yours.
So… what are you going to do with it?
