🔍 SearchGPT: Powered by Bing but uniquely ranked

ChatGPT opened up its search feature to all Pro subscribers, with plans to gradually roll it out to free accounts too.

The search tool seems to be powered by Bing’s index, though ChatGPT isn’t simply copying Bing’s results.

OpenAI’s VP of Engineering explained, “We use a set of services, and Bing is an important one.”

But ChatGPT ranks content independently, so results won’t look quite the same as Bing’s.

As a practical step, you can start using (or dust off your login for) Bing Webmaster Tools to see your organic Bing performance.

Another bold move: OpenAI is promoting a Chrome extension that automatically changes your default search engine to SearchGPT.
