SAP Data Warehouse Cloud & SAP Analytics Cloud - End to End Scenario

I always feel that the best way of learning a product is by simply using it and take some simple scenario and go through the different options one step at a time. So I decided to setup some simple steps to follow along in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud first and then after did all the modelling, we will use our data scenarios in SAP Analytics Cloud.

From a scenario point of view, I think "Sales" is something that everyone can easily relate to, so we will setup the following facts / dimensions:

• Orders and Order Details
• Product, Product Category
• Customer
• Sales Person and Sales Channel
• Geo Details per Customer

As mentioned, a relatively simple scenario where we are going to sell some products to our customers and we then want to use the data, so that we can find out a few things:

• Which products are our most profitable / least profitable products ?
• What are our biggest sellers based on revenue and based on quantity?
• Who are our most important customers ?
• Who are our top sales persons?
• Are we giving our customers too much discount ?

So we will start with setting up the raw data in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud and in the first set of steps we will use spreadsheets to create the tables. After we then got ourselves familiar with the tables and views, we will also take a look at how the steps would be different with information available in SAP HANA, SAP BW4HANA, or Microsoft SQL Server.

After setting up the initial models, we will also take a look at how to setup hierarchies, calculations, and geo enrichment as part of the models in SAP Data Warehouse and then last but not least, we will setup our analytics stories using SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud, Analytics Designer.

I am planning to start this journey tomorrow (fingers crossed) and will share all the steps via video and simple steps to follow, including any source files.
