The Ripple Effect of Sharing: A Lesson from My Grandmother

The Ripple Effect of Sharing: A Lesson from My Grandmother

The Spark of Generosity in the Everyday

Growing up, my grandmother's home was a beacon of warmth in our community. Each evening, as smoke spiraled from her kitchen, I knew something more than food was being prepared; it was a feast of generosity. Watching her serve meal after meal to the neighborhood children, I once asked, "Grandma, why do you serve everyone else before yourself?" Her reply has never left me: "Even if you have little, be someone who shares with the world." This lesson in selflessness seeded a hope within me that has grown into a life mission.

A Personal Struggle Transformed into a Collective Solution

"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." – John Dewey. Inspired by my grandmother's words and facing my own challenges with school dropout due to financial constraints, I learned the value of giving, no matter how small the offering. Instead of saving for my own needs, I chose to pay for a primary student’s school fees, embracing the suffering as a catalyst for sharing.

Impact Through Compassion: The One Dollar Back To School Campaign

This spirit of giving birthed the One Dollar Back To School campaign, through which we've reached over 2,000 primary students across public schools, proving that even the smallest contributions can catalyze significant change.

Empowering Future Generations: Join the Movement

"The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving." - Albert Einstein. I’ve realized that you don’t need to be wealthy to make a difference; the little you give can spark tremendous impacts. Every shilling counts, and every gesture of kindness is a step towards a larger revolution in generosity.

If you're doubting whether the little you have can make a difference, let me assure you through our work at Kosi Africa and the One Dollar Back To School campaign, every small contribution has the potential to transform lives. Are you ready to make a difference? Join us in this campaign Here.
