QS MBA Rankings 2024: IIM Bangalore shines as Best Indian B-School

[Campus Weekly: 7th Nov'23] The recently published 2024 edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Global MBA Rankings has reaffirmed the outstanding reputation of India's top business schools.
In particular, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have solidified their status among the world's elite business education institutions across various Management Programs.
In the rankings released on Oct 25, IIM Bangalore, which claimed the top spot among Indian Business schools, ranked 48 globally. As the only Indian institute within the top 50 worldwide, this reaffirms IIM Bangalore's place among the most prestigious global business schools.
In Asia, IIM Bangalore has been ranked as the 8th-best Institution for a full-time MBA course.
The institute also ranks 43rd globally for its executive MBA programme and 31st for its Masters in Management course. IIM Bangalore is also the only IIM to feature among the top 50 institutes for return on investment, where it is placed at the 31st rank.
How have other IIMs performed in the global rankings?
While IIM Bangalore has achieved the highest spot among Indian business schools, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta have followed the institution in the global ranking list.
With a global rank of 53, IIM Ahmedabad has positioned itself as one of the top MBA institutions worldwide. Notably, it is the second-best institution in Asia for QS's alumni outcomes and entrepreneurship indicator, securing the 33rd position globally.
On the other hand, IIM Calcutta held the 59th global position, affirming its place among the world's top business institutions. The institution has also performed tremendously in the employability indicator, ranking 46th globally and claiming the seventh position in Asia.
In the Master in Management program category, IIM Bangalore has reigned as the leader in India, securing the top position and an impressive 31st rank globally due to its exceptional alumni outcomes, placing it at an impressive 10th rank globally.
IIM Calcutta, on the other hand, positioned within the top 100 globally, has distinguished itself as one of India's premier master's programs in business analytics. In this category, it secures a rank between the 61-70 band.
IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore have been ranked in the band of 151-200 in QS Global Full Time MBA Rankings.
IIM Udaipur has also carved a niche for itself with its master's in supply chain management program, securing a ranking of 51 or higher.
Note that as a part of its ranking procedure, QS has also ranked a total of 28 specialized master's programs in the field of business. These programs encompass 17 master's in management, five in finance, three in business analytics, two in marketing, and one in supply chain management.
How are non-IIMs performing on the global forum?
Among non-IIMs, The Indian School of Business (ISB), with campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, deserves special recognition. QS has ranked ISB at 78th globally. ISB's reputation for producing exceptional business leaders and entrepreneurs is reaffirmed by its 43rd global position and fifth place in Asia for alumni outcomes and entrepreneurship.
