The power of NFTs lies in its communities

As NFTs continue to gain traction, perhaps made popular by both platforms like Twitter (where blue tick users can upload their NFTs as their profile pictures) and by celebrity endorsements (such as Paris Hilton and Eminem), it is hardly surprising that new NFT projects are popping up left, right and centre lately! And, with all these new projects, inevitably comes a lot of scammers in a space that can easily be manipulated due to the anonymous nature of the tech surrounding crypto and blockchain.

Now, more than ever, one of the first things that people consider when looking at an NFT project and deciding to invest in it or not, is the community around it. For the founders, the success of an NFT project depends on many key factors, including what type of NFT you are creating, your strategies for a successful launch, and maybe most importantly of all, your community and branding.

If we consider what a community is, it can be broadly defined by being a group of people who share something in common and who are similar in some way. NFTs provide the perfect environment and conditions for this description - they allow a sense of digital identity and belonging, they attract like-minded people, and they enable people to truly come together in the spirit of enjoying a collectible, valuable, digital asset.

The community aspect of NFTs is just as important as the art and the collectors themselves, and the power that they bring is unlike anything we’ve seen before. People invest not only money, but also time, ideas, collaborations, trading and even make real-life connections with others in the same space. The NFT world has been mainly connected on social media under assumed names. People meeting each other and forming actual physical friendships mirrors the NFT world itself.

So, where do most NFT communities exist? Predominantly on Twitter and Discord! Twitter is used by people to get news and participate in airdrops and giveaways, while Discord is used as a place to chat with others and to exchange information and ideas.

We can conclude that there is not only power in NFTs, but that anyone wishing to start a project should be mindful about it and ensure that they have the know-how to building one (which is no easy feat).
